I’m a Chinese female.
SAT I: 2060: Critical Reading 550; Math 800; Writing 710.
(I know my CR is quite low, I’ll retake it in October and hope will do better)
I’m going to take SAT II(Math Level II, Physics, Chemistry) in June.
GPA: UW: 3.62; W: I’m not sure, maybe around 4.3.
Our school doesn’t rank, but my counselor said that I was in the top 20 out of 1000.
I’m in the two best classes in our school. We take tougher and more courses than students in other classes do.

ECs:
1. English Club. I’m the founder and president. Although the club has been open for only a year, it is selected as one of the six 5-star clubs out of 26 clubs.
2. Volunteer Teaching in Hunan Province. It is part of our school’s Social Activity Program in which we can design our own interested activities. I was the organizer and went to teach there myself with other 17 students.
3. MUN. I’m a member in both 10th and 11th grade. I’ve participated in two school MUN conferences.
4. Prefect. It’s a student group whose members are upper class students. I’m a member of it and we help first-year students get familiar with the high school life.
5. Table Tennis School Team. I was a member of it in 10th grade. I won the second place in the school table tennis competition at the beginning of 11th grade.
6. I had studied drawing for years when I was little and was learning sketching in 10th grade. I think I sketch well and can make a portfolio.
7. Volunteer in the Children’s Hospital, help some sick children do physical training. But I only have about 20 hours volunteer time because I’m quite busy with my schoolwork. I’ll spend some time volunteering there this summer.
8. HSYLC. Participant. It’s an activity held in Shanghai by some Harvard students. It selected 300 students out of 1000 applicants to participate and gave me a taste of what US college life would be like.

AWARDS:
Second Prize of National Informatics Competition.
AMC: I don’t know what prize it is, but I passed the AMC 12 and took AIME.

Financial Aid: Most of the US colleges don’t offer need-blind FAs to international students. However my family contribution is only up to $15000. It’s really a disadvantage.

I’m inclined to major in engineering and minor in sociology or economics, but I’m actually undecided yet. I’m now interested in Swarthmore and Brown(Brown admitted 3 students with full aid from our school this year). Can you chance me please and give me some suggestions about where to go? Thanks a lot!
