Be realistic please. I want to get in and I think I am a strong candidate. I am worried about the OOS part…

Probably not high enough stats for OOS. SAT is lower range. ACT score better but worthless to UC without essay. Check roger hub calculator for true UC capped weighted and fully weighted GPA. Likely lower than you think since they don’t give OOS any GPA boost for honors classes, only AP. Best public school in the nation is a reach for everyone.

You should consider UCLA a Reach and with a Cap on OOS applicants in place, it will be very competitive this year. Your SAT is within range but below the 50th percentile so overall a tough admit.

Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 4.20 or above:
UCLA: 54%

25th - 75th percentiles for SAT:

UCLA: 1280-1500

Also, consider that over 100K students submitted applications this year. Did you do a full year course in visual or performing arts?

@Gumbymom and @auntbea “so you’re telling me there is a chance” lol. I feel qualified, but with many other qualified applicants I know it can be a toss-up. To answer @auntbea , I took guitar class, intro to studio art, stagecraft, and was the lead role in the high school play if that counts…

Yes, you have a chance but still consider UCLA a Reach school especially as an OOS applicant. The bar is set higher for OOS applicants to UCLA and the UC Regents has capped the # of OOS/International applicants that can be accepted starting this year.

Regarding the Visual/Performing arts requirement, you need 1 year of the same class such as Guitar, Studio Art etc… to meet the requirement.
