I want to know if I could get into any of the following Architecture programs: Penn State, DAAP at UC, Ball State, Notre Dame, Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State, UK, Miami, NC State

I am a junior at a very, very competitive high school. I have a 4.0, but my school does not do class rank. As of next year I will take 3 AP classes and one accelerated class, school does not offer honors(but I am still in the top 10% of my class). By then, my GPA should be above a 4.0. I am terrible at standardized tests so i got a 1850 on the SAT (640 math, 630 writing, 580 reading), and a 26 on the ACT ( i plan on retaking both because i had a really exhausting week right before the test and I was up really late) Plus, I got a 30 on math and 29 on English, it's just my reading score that's bringing me down. My grades are really strong overall, it's just my test scores that are low. (What can I do to BRING MY TEST GRADES UP! I need help!)

Extra Carriculars: National Honors Society, Foreign Language National Honors Society, French Club, Student Ambassador, 3 different Community service activities, school phonathon, 3 year varsity volleyball, club volleyball.

Rec Letters will be really good.

Let me know if you think I could get into any of those schools with my information. Please let me know what you think I need to do. I will chance you back if you need me to~ Thank you!!!!!!

Considering your stats and ecs, I think you have an excellent chance at all of these schools except Michigan and Notre Dame. Your SAT’s are low for these schools, so I wouldn’t give you a great chance at these schools right now, but you can always bring those scores up.

Also, are you a recruited athlete for volleyball?

Chance me back!

Get those test scores up and you can start considering Michigan and Notre Dame. Your EC’s are good and will help you a lot. I think that all of your other schools are no-brainers.

I would say just get your SAT/ACT scores up and then you should be good for all of your schools :)

You will be fine. As long as your a dedicated and well rounded student, colleges will take chances on you. One if my senior friends has way lower stats than you, and is going to U of Michigan :)

I feel your pain. I’m a $hit test taker, too, have been for years. But I found that drilling for the SAT I for months before I took the test actually helped me do reallllly well. And like I said, this is coming from a bad test taker, so trust me when I say it helped tremendously. I took a course, but even just taking a lot of practice tests and reading a review/tips books should be sufficient in terms of drilling.

So just drill, baby, drill! ;P

Your in at all of them for sure

thank you guys so much that really helps. i needed a little bit of encouragement to help me out. on my standardized tests, it’s just my reading scores that are bringing me down so that’s what i really need to focus on. what do you think i would need to get my ACT and SAT scores up to for Mich and ND? plus, isn’t it harder to get into architecture programs than just the actual school? p.s. i am working on chancing you all back.

I don’t know about recruiting, but hopefully. I think I could play in college, but I don’t know if I’m going to have time with being an Architecture major and all.
