Honestly, how much chance do I have at any of these good schools? Duke and UChicago are my top choices. Any suggestions on how to improve for a better chance? Thanks!!

The 3.5 will be a big issue unless you attend a super competitive school (one that send 25% plus to ivies and has a 2100 average SAT). You’ll also need higher scores other than for Mich and Wisconsin.

I think that retaking your SATs is definitely a smart move, and you have some great ECs, but I think that your GPA might hurt you. I say this because my brother, who graduated a few years ago, had great ECs and a decent SAT score (~2200), but his unweighted GPA was around a 3.6 so he got rejected from the Ivies that he applied to, as well as U of Michigan. He said that his biggest regret was (obviously) not having a strong enough GPA, but to compensate for it, he says he wished he pursed an EC that would have made him stand out. Maybe that would be a good path for you? Good luck!

Your GPA and SAT could be increased. Especially if you wanted to make going to most of those colleges plausible.

If you can work on keeping grades up this semester and first semester next year that should really help your GPA, which seems to be one of your weaker points. Obviously you said you plan on retaking your SAT which is another hurting point — try to get that up. Otherwise, you have generally good stats (GPA would help…) and seem well qualified. While your ECs are good (a whole lot better than mine!), something really unique or distinctive can always help. I won’t make predictions about the Ivies(I’d call them a reach for anyone…), but for others:
Duke — Reach, but with improved SAT a definite possibility
UChicago — Same as Duke
Stanford — Reach
Princeton — Reach
Ohio State University — Safety?
Brown — Reach
Northwestern — I’d call this likely, especially with boosted SAT
University of Michigan — Likely
Cornell — Reach
UPenn — Reach
Columbia — Reach
University of Wisconsin — Likely

Hope this helps!
