I’m a junior this year.

I plan on applying to UVA early action, William and Mary, UNC Chapel Hill, UPenn, and Yale (CHANCE ME FOR THESE SCHOOLS PLEASE :slight_smile: )

Got 1750 on the SAT and will retake it in March for hopefully 2000+ (I barely studied the first time)
I will take two SAT Subject tests: Bio and U.S History

Academic Achievement:

-Academic Excellence Award for Freshman Year and Sophomore Year “Varsity Letter” (I’m a junior this year but I will receive the award for junior year during senior year)
-Certificates of Achievement for Straight A’s

awareness for science at a middle school

Accomplishments: I auditioned for all districts choir my first year in choir and was accepted. I also performed for teachers during the welcoming ceremony this past summer. I also performed in a small group of 5 at an academic awards ceremony and I performed at UNICEF events multiple times.

  • Church Youth Group Accomplishments: Leading youth services with music and prayer -Grace Ministries (Giving out food for people with less opportunities)

@jfak Thanks! What if I don’t get a 2000+ SAT? Would I still have a chance at UVA early action? And is Yale a high reach or regular reach?

There is nothing in what you’ve posted that would make me think that you wouldn’t be competitive to get accepted to any of these schools outside of you SAT scores. Getting them to be 2000+ will be an absolute necessity if you really want to give yourself a better shot at getting in. Be prepared to write solid essays that allow you to standout. Outside of that the rest is up to fate. Good luck.
