Pretty sure you’ll get into NYU. Berkeley might be a high match. I dont really know much about the way your GPA is calculated. Is it good compared to other people in your school? otherwise your ECs and test scores are great. And also I heard that legacy doesnt really have much of an impact on college admissions anymore since most Americans have gone to some college or another. The influence of legacy was very important back when colleges were first founded. Now not so much. Just thought I’d let you know.

I think you are likely to get into all besides Berkeley only because you are out of state. Your application looks stellar.

Gpa is one of my weaknesses I would say, Its good not great.

Your ECs look great! They’re focused on something you clearly enjoy which colleges really like. I think you’re a match for NYU and most of your others schools, Berkeley and Johns Hopkins are reaches but I think if your essays are good then you can still get in.

Pretty sure you can get into all of those colleges except Berkeley with your scores. You will be a competitive applicant though with your stats.

@hopeful64 is Middlebury such a reach you didn’t include it?

OP, you have parents who attended Wiiliams and Amherst? I thought they were banned from marrying.

Nope, I must’ve just forgotten it, sorry. I would say that Middlebury is a match though. You have very good ECs.

Haha, sporting events are very interesting

Thanks everyone for your comments

I definitely think your chances are good for most of the colleges you listed. JHU and Berkeley will be harder, and with their acceptance rates it can sometimes be a crapshoot. Not sure how McGill’s admissions process works, so I can’t speak for that college either. As a whole, I don’t think you have anything to worry about. My thread is here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1786255-chance-me-for-these-schools-suggest-other-places-to-apply.html#latest

Okay is Berkeley as competitive for out is staters? Or is it not much of a difference

@hopeful64 if Amhesrt and Williams and Tufts (the first two being legacies) are high matches then Middlebury is also a high match. The only way Berkeley will be more difficult than the NESCACs is if the applicant is from outside of Calfornia. Even then, it’s probably comparable. There’s no way you can put NYU, W&M, and Middlebury in the same admission boat.

You seem like an excellent match for W&M

I think you’ll get into NYU, William and Mary, Geneseo, Brooklyn and McGill for sure. You’ll probably get into a handful of the others if not more, they’re just very competitive so it’s hard to say. Good luck!
