Did a bit of biomed/bioengineering research over the summer, wrote some scripts for a coding project for a scientist at a local university.
Volunteer (200+ hrs)
Basketball (3 yrs, captain)

Essays/Recommendations:

I know that my rec letters are going to be good, probably around an 8/10 or higher.
I’m a pretty good writer, so my essays should be decent too (7/10 or higher).

Schools I’m planning on applying to:
UCB
UCLA
UIUC
Cornell (ED)
UPenn
CMU
UW
UM
GT

Are there any other colleges I should be looking at?

Thanks in advance!

I see no safeties? You are definitely competitive for the UC’s but there are no guarantees. What are you backup schools?

UCB - match/safety (living in CA with the test scores you have, there’s no way they won’t accept you)
UCLA - same as above
UIUC - safety
Cornell (ED) - match (ED will help a lot)
UPenn - low reach
CMU -high match

I have other UCs as safeties (UCSB, UCI, UCD)

UCI could be considered a safety. You do have excellent stats, but there are several posted decisions of many extremely qualified applicants that were denied from UCSB/UCD/UCSD/UCLA and UCB, so again I emphasize no guarantees. Just make sure you will be happy attending any of the schools are your list.

Good Luck.

I agree with @ap012199 – heck, you might run the table. If UW is Washington, make sure you apply to the Honors Program:

Good luck!

You have the academic credentials necessary to get into a top college. However, knowing that there is a vast number of top tier applicants that frequently get rejected from those schools, do keep in mind to look at other UCs or even CSUs (Cal Poly and SJSU are good for CS so if you need a backup, apply for these schools).
