My essays are unique and very good
my recommendations are great

i am applying EA to u mich, BC, and u notre dame (i have a letter from a alumni)
If not accepted anywhere EA, i am applying to NYU, Lehigh, Babson College, Villanova, U of Rochester, Northeastern, BU, TCNJ

ANY1 wanna help me out

im applying to all the business schools

kinda same boat as you, umich is probably easy if your instate i don’t really know about the others. Good ec’s though.

You have a lot of extra curriculars. The most important thing though, is not how many extra curricular activities you do, but which ones impacted you the most. I’m just picking at flaws here… you have a very impressive resume. But quite frankly, I don’t know if you will make any because I’m not too familiar with acceptances (I’m trying to get into Boston College myself).

I know for NYU Stern you can’t just have academics. You have to stand out personally on a business standpoint. One of my friends got accepted with subpar GPA/SAT, but he got in because he was superior in DECA (business class)- one of the most ambitious and relentless business people I know, and that’s how he got in.

If you are exploring the West Coast, try for Haas at Berkeley. Granted, it’s insanely competitive and difficult to get in. My cousin goes to Berkeley and said that getting 1 B basically screws up your entire GPA and chance of getting into Haas.

Anyways, good luck! Hopefully you make it and you are in the delightful situation of choosing between two (or more) great colleges

thanks bchope

Hi there!

The Bads: Relatively low ACT score, GPA, and too much of a splatter of ECs
Good Stuff: Great SAT II Score (Don’t you need two in different subjects?), A lot of ECs

That being said, I think that if you convey your interest in a specific EC either in your essay or resume, it will help you tremendously. If you package your application well and show the college what direction you want to go in, then I would say you are a strong applicant.

I will only chance you for the ones I know so I dont sound like a complete idiot : )

Umich: slight reach/match
notre dame: low reach
NYU: (I’m assuming stern): mid to high reach
Northeastern: match
BU: in

Remember not to give the college a laundry list of your apps. Like BChopefully said, you MUST show them which one has impacted you the most. Maybe emphasize your interest in business and how you have attempted to fulfill ur interests (if thats the case).

Overall, I’d say that while you have mediocre test scores for top tier schools, your ECs certainly have the potential to make up or surpass your slight disadvantage.

Best of luck!

Chance me back please? : )

I have to agree with the posters before me in that your GPA seems a little low for your schools and definitely try to focus your ECs more in your essays

UMich- low reach
BC- Not too familiar with
Notre Dame- Reach

chance me back? :)

ballpointpenn- i wrote the 150 word essay about FBLA… and my main esssay relates to finance

I think you have a very good shot at notre dame and bu. As for BC, ehh… It’s a very tough school to get into these days (i’m applying ea there too!), but just work hard on those essays and edit, edit, edit! i know i have edited mine at least 5 times each! your sat subjects are good, but what are the stars next to them? no west coast schools though? you could at least try some of the ucs… good luck though, and chance me please?
