Guys, PLEASE CHANCE ME! I promise I’ll chance you back!!

Lehigh–Match

jk

Hamilton–reach.

Nice profile.

SUNYs and Tulane should be just about safeties. GW shouldn’t be too hard, either.

I really like the literacy-related service and leadership. It will touch the hearts of people in the admissions offices, especially those in the humanities. However, did you get paid for it? If so, you should do some more stuff like that as a volunteer. Maybe link Spanish and literacy by teaching ESL to kids or something like that.

Glad you are taking Econ for business. How is it going in that class?

Emory seems like a match. You may want to boost your math score or show some more math strength, especially if you are going into business.

Can you tell them about the Investors Club? What does it do? Humanize Wall Street (if you can) now, in a time where some people have a higher opinion of Swine Flu than Wall Street. I’m not saying it will hurt you to be in that group: far from it. However, you should show them how you plan to be an innovator on Wall Street. Is it your honesty? How about your pragmatism? What is your “big idea” for going into business? They will want to know your vision.

Isn’t Goucher an all-female school and aren’t you male?

Brandeis is a low reach. Give a good interview, make them see who you are through more than just a profile.

Nice job with DECA… what is it? Make sure they understand.

Show some leadership in your interviews and essays. You are a leader in newspaper, MUN, investors, and library advisory. Show them your strategy. Are you a general? A sounding board for ideas? A leader-by-example? A person who throws ideas into the open and leads by discussion and innovation? A charismatic guy who makes it personal and wins them over like friends? There are many kinds of leader.

William and Mary and Oberlin are not easy to get into. However, I don’t see them as out of reach altogether. Show passion. Make interviewers/contacts see that you are already a William and Mary/Oberlin Man and going there would be a good fit for them as well as for you. Prove to them that you understand their schools’ characters and can simultaneously add to the communities there while fit in well and learn best from their systems. As small colleges, they want to know about your personality. Show them.

Best of luck to you. I hope this helps. Can you chance me? The link is below. Thanks. Peace.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/811352-crossing-my-fingers.html?highlight=Crossing+Fingers

Reaches: Brandeis-Not Sure, Emory-Could go either way. If you bumped up the ACT maybe one or two points, I’d think you were solid. Oberlin-Don’t know anything about. William and Mary- Hard OOS, but I think you’ll get in.

Match-Reach: Connecticut College- Don’t know.

Matches: Tulane-In, possibly with 25k a year, def. 15k. Probably no honors though. Lehigh-Don’t know. GW-In. SUNY Geneseo- Don’t know.

Safeties: SUNY Albany Honors, SUNY Stony Brook Honors, Goucher- Don’t know, but hey, they are safeties.

Good Luck.

wow, Infos, haha… I’m amazed by your post: let me try to address some of this:

the SUNY’s seem good and I’m happy that you think I have a good shot at GW: I actually got accepted into Tulane already w/ 15 K/year

the literacy-based activities were purely volunteer work, and lol, it’s kind of late to build on that, but thanks!

Actually, it may seem I have a business orientation… but in fact, I want to major Psychology with a minor in Global Studies/International Relations; at the “universities”, where it’s offered, I’d pair it off with Psych

DECA is a business competition where you create hypothetical, legit, 30-page business plans for companies about a new branch or new location altogether

wow, Emory, a match, lol, solid

Wall Street Investors Club is basically trying to prepare younger students to know the nuances of the stock market through simulations… and to allow them tor eally get a firm grip on these basic ideas in adulthood

Goucher used to be all-female, now it is 60-40 female/male lol

once again, Brandeis, low reach? great, haha! yes, I’ve met/kept correspondence with 2 admissions counselors, went to open-house at my school, visited campus, and have an alum interview set for next month

I see what you’re saying with W & M/Oberlin… Oberlin, I have an alum interview set, while with W & M, I have kept up correspondence with admissions counselors, but unfortunately, they don’t have interviews =(

and this def helped, haha! thank you so much!! I’ll chance you back now
