Hi! Chance me please :)
My first choice school is UNC Chapel Hill (I'm out of state unfortunately). I will also apply to UVA (also out of state), U Penn (long shot), and several other safe schools. The previous ones are the ones I'm wondering about. Can someone please help me out??
Oh and I'm white if that's important..

I'm ranked number 2 in my class (small-ish private school). We don't offer honors classes, but I've taken the most challenging program offered at my school (all APs offered except one). We also don't really give out many awards, etc., and there are not as many clubs and such as you would find at a larger school.
GPA: 4.07
SATs: (retaking in October--hoping to bring math up to 680-700).
Math: 640
C.R.-750
Writing-710

Activities
I've played violin VERY seriously for ten years, been in orchestra for eight, and participated in two week summer tours with the orchestra. I've participated in string exam programs, etc. I also play regularly in my church. I definitely plan to play in college and will be contacting the orchestra directors of these schools after I submit my application.
I'm a Varsity Cheerleader and have coached the Middle School team for the past two years.
I've been on a swim team for eleven years.
I'm a member of NHS and participate in a peer-tutoring program.
I'm in a choir and was selected to be part of a smaller, audition only ensemble.
I'm a National Merit Semi-Finalist.
I've participated in drama in school all four years and am part of the morning announcement club.
LOTS and LOTS of community service (through Girl Scouts and church).

INTERNSHIP: this summer, I had the amazing opportunity to work on capitol hill in a North Carolina congressman's office (who happens to be a UNC alum...helpful!) I'm really going to try and bring this experience out in my application.

UNC should be a match. get really good essays/recomendations and pull up the SATs and you should be good with UVA as well. As far as UPENN goes, the SAT IIs and SAT needs to come up, that’s a reach

same as above. get your sats up and everything else looks good! write really awesome essays and get good teacher recs and you’ll get in! best of luck!

I went to visit UNC, and they said that you need upper 1400s to be admitted out of state. (in state percentage is 85 so its hard to get in out of state) i actually think you might have a better chance at UVA. if you improve your SAT scores to about 2200 to 2300, you should get into penn

You have a good chance at all your choices but UPenn is going to be hard I would say write a good essay and get your SATs higher and I think you’ll be fine

UNC-Match
UVA-High match. UVA is pretty difficult to get into from OOS from what I’ve heard, but I’d say you still have a pretty good chance. Get the SAT score up a bit more and you should be fine.
Penn-Reach. Get your SAT up and the SAT IIs as well and it should improve your chances. Don’t feel bad though because honestly Penn is a reach for almost everyone.

your ec’s look very strong
try to shape them so there is a focus though
if you get your sat scores up, Penn should be a low reach!
unc - (with higher scores) high match
uva - low reach
