Not that great, I know. But hopefully I still have a chance!

Thanks!

I would say you have as good a chance as any could with a school like Harvard. Your SAT score is a bit low; however, you said that you’re going to try again, so aim for at least the high 2200s.
Your ECs are really good, and despite a few Bs, you have a really good bet.
Good luck!
Chance me?

wow, what an idiot, getting a b in US History. You should be ashamed of yourself!

No, but actually that resume is ridiculously good. Just from that though I have no idea what you’re actually passionate about though.

Good stats all around. I’m pretty sure you could get into most non-HYPSM schools, but Harvard is a reach for anybody and everybody. Your ECs look strong and they show interest in your intended major which is good.

Chance back please,
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1090865-chances-brown-nyu-villanova-johns-hopkins-i-will-chance-back.html#post12030821

Certainly, with the SAT bumped up closer to the 2250 area and your main ECs pursued to the max, you should stand as good a chance as most - which, of course, is to say 7%.

I think that you can get that 7% a good bit higher if you identify real reasons why Harvard would be the ideal match for you, and you for it (after all, many applicants will apply for the name only - not being among them should immediately enhance your chances). Once you determine whether that is truly the case and why, begin corresponding with Harvard faculty members in the relevant field. Ask if you can make an appointment for a 20-minute visit when you go for a campus tour. Follow up with thank you notes afterward. Explain your “perfect match” rationale in your application essays. Send supplemental materials related to that field and try to tailor them so that when they’re sent by the Admissions Office to the appropriate department for feedback, they go to the person(s) with whom you met.

I have no doubt that these steps will increase your odds. I also have no expectation that it will increase them to 50%. So perhaps the most important piece of preparation you can pursue is to come to an understanding that Harvard is a very good university, but by no means the only one. Identify at least one target school that really excites you, and use the same approach as above with them. Good luck, and enjoy the journey!

I did not get a B in US History. I accidentally put a B. I got an A in US History. The only B+ I got was in Alg 2 Honor and that was a lousy mistake. Thanks for the advice.

FWIW, I’m two for two on that advice with Harvard applicants! :)

This looks ridiculously close to my thread, especially the “Summer intern at Ikain.com” part ._.

^That’s mine. Did you copy and paste mine and forget to edit?

I did not copy and paste yours. I just typed it up. It’s just a coincidence.

Hmm, so you interned at Ikain too? How did you know about it

My friend told me about it.

Please chance me. I would appreciate criticism.

Bump. Chance me please.

Bump. Chance me please.

I think you have a good fighting chance at Harvard, assuming you raise your SAT score significantly. However, Ivies are always a crapshoot, so nothing is guaranteed. Good luck.

Chance me?
