I'm applying ED to Cornell Arts and Sciences with a slight hook (reference from an alumni with over a five generation-legacy)

Look pretty good. The language thing is pretty cool, sounds like you're a good fit with Arts and Sciences. Maybe the SAT should go up a little.

chances are good only if you have sufficiently highlighted your strength in languages, performance art and other passions. If you come from a competitive public school in NY, you need a strong hook.

I wouldn't really call a "hook" a letter of recommendation from an alumni. I personally had a letter from a Senator (who is an alumni) sent to Yale, doubt it will make any difference.

Your language effort is most likely your hook. However, the adcom will most likely ask, will you become fluent in all five of these languages? Or are you doing it just to impress them? Will you continue them in college?

Other than that, looks good.

you seem really well qualified. a lot of students here are from westchester, so cornell accepts a lot of students from the nyc area. your ACT score is definitely safe and congrats on the 35 in math!
