Chance me PLEASE!!! :) In need of help!!!!

Hi! Thanks for checking this out and helping me out!!!

I am a rising Senior at a suburban public high school that does pretty well in college admissions. My GPA is 4.5 out of 5.3 (my school only does weighted) and my class rank is 26 out of 520. My SAT scores at this point in time are Math 650, writing 670, and CR 740, but I plan on retaking them. My subject tests are Lit: 680 and World history: 710.

EC:
I am the Editor-in-Chief of my school newspaper and have been an Editor of it since my freshman year (Opinions Editor, Copy Editor, then Editor-in-Chief)
I am the Founder/President of the Model United Nations club at my school.
I am the President of the Midnight Run club, a club that distributes food and clothing to those without homes in New York City and the surrounding area.
I am also a member of other various clubs. Also, I have run one season of track and one season of cross country, and i have been participating in cheerleading since the end of my sophomore year.

Community Service:
Besides the Midnight Run, I have volunteered for about 25 hours at a place in my town called El Centro Hispano, a place for people of Hispanic people of my area to come and recieve help in getting a job or a home, among other things.
I also volunteered in the Dominican Republic for a week at an orphanage through an organization called Orphanage Outreach.

Family History:
I come from a middle-class Caucasian family. My father went to George Washington University and my mom went to SUNY Stony Brook. My mom went to Pace University for law school and my dad went to the George Washington graduate school of political management.

Thank you for your help!
Schools I'm interested in:
Swarthmore (ED)
GW (ED2 if i don't get into Swarthmore)
Davidson
Brown
SUNY Geneseo
Princeton
Emory

My recs and my essay should also be very good.

Thanks for trying to chance me
I'm very interested in international relations - are there any other schools that you would suggest considering my interests and my stats?

I have an edit: I also went to China as a pioneer trip with my school.

Also, two other kids from my school who have a better class rank (number 2 and 3) and possibly sat scores will also be applying ED with me. Does this affect my chances of getting in?

bump (10 char)
someone else please reply so it's not just me talking to myself!! :)

I think you have a pretty good chance with Emory, Davidson, GW. However pretty much all the schools you're looking at are maybe matches, slight reaches, some high reaches (Princeton, Swarthmore). You should definitely look at some more safeties.

As a great school for IR that is a definite match for you is Syracuse.

thanks for the advice...I know Swarthmore is a reach...its just a dream school for me but I don't know whether it is too much of a reach to bother...any thoughts? also, any other safety suggestions? thanks for your help!

I think Brown, Princeton, Swathmore, GW and Emory are either low or high reaches as of now. If some test scores go up a bit and essays work well, as well as recs, you could get in at least 1 of those.

Ps: I think legacy at GW may help alot. (I'm assuming it's GW in st. louis)

I think you have an especially hot shot for Brown. The others, excluding Princeton, will be easy for you to get into.

i agree with everyone here, and princeton is a reach. i will say, however that a great safety for you will be pitt, and i think NYU, but that's closer to a match than safety.
