Chance me please? :) In state, RD!

I am applying to UNC-CH undecided. I am an in-state student from New Hanover county, and come from a competitive high school within the area. I am female and hispanic, but I don't know if that holds any weight at Carolina.

GPA: UW: 3.93, W: 4.81 (with first semester senior grades)
Rank: 9/398 (top 2%)
SAT: CR: 630 M: 660 W: 770, superscore: 2060, best in one sitting: 1990
SAT II: French: 610, Math II: 660

APs:
Calc AB (5), Calc BC (4), English Lang (4), Environmental (4)
Senior Year AP's: Statistics, Literature, Pyschology, Physics C: Mechanics, Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism
Other Senior Year Courses: Honors English 4, Honors French 4, German I (or possibly Honors French 5, still waiting to hear!)
IBs: Not available at my high school

EC's summary:
National Honor Society: 1 year
National Beta Club: 2 years
French Club: 3 years (1 year as secretary, 1 year as VP)
Varsity Math Team: 1 year
Environmental Club: 1 year
Prom Committee: 1 year
Other various activities: I have participated in 3 various foreign exchange programs throughout high school, and am in the midst of coordinating a foreign exchange program for my school for this coming spring (2012). I have worked with the Honors Flight organization to do fundraisers which raise money to send veterans of war to Washington DC to visit various memorials. I have also worked 2 jobs, if that holds any weight.

Recommendations: One from an english teacher (very good), and another from my math teacher (very good). I'm assuming my counselor rec was decent as well.
Essays: Strong
Other: I have also participated in the Carolina 101 and Academic Days programs (again, not sure if this means anything); URMS; first-generation college student

I am hoping to enter UNC-CH during the fall of 2012. Any insight on my chances of getting accepted?

Don’t worry, you’ve got a really good chance. Much better stats than people I know that got in. What school? I’m at laney

I’m currently at Ashley. I know a decent number of kids got in ED, so I’m hoping my RD status won’t hurt me!

I think you will get in. I have pretty similar stats and got accepted.

4.0 UW, 4.875 W
2050 SAT
Ranked in top 5%
Only 4s and 5s on AP exams
In-State
First generation college
Similar amount of EC’s
Strong recs and essays

Thanks! I’m hoping I’ll get in… I’m a little concerned about my SAT score, but I’ve had a few people tell me not to fret too bad over that.

Well, my 2-part was higher than yours, but I think you will be fine. I kind of regretted not taking it again this year, for scholarship purposes. Does no good to worry about it now though, just have to try to get what I can. :P

I suppose we’re all just waiting and hoping at this point. :)

You’re in! I got in with lower everything. :D

Really? Congrats on your acceptance! :)

Other than near average M+CR, you have a solid application assuming good essays/recs. You have such high AP Calc scores, given your average SAT math scores. I think the AP Calc AB+ Calc BC is way more indicative of your ability to handle advanced math. I think you’re in in-state.

Eastern NC + URM status (ethnic, geographic) lock you in.

No problem - You are in!

Ahhh, I hope so! Thank you!

I have no doubt that you will get in!
