Chance me please? In state

Hello everyone! With decisions coming out so soon I’m very nervous! I hear it is harder to get in if you are in state. Is there any truth to that? Anyways, here are my stats. Thanks so much.

I work as a diamond and jewelry consultant too, which was included in the resume I submitted.

Two teacher and one counselor recommendation.

I had my essay reviewed by my AP English teacher, it is well written. Not a perfect 10/10 but probably a 7 or 8.

I applied early action, as an International Business major.

So what do you guys think? Anyone else incredibly nervous?

I say yes.

I would say that statement is false. They want the cream of the crop for OOS students. In-state they are lenient in some ways. I know a kid that got in with a 2.8GPA (no freshmen connection).

Definitely a good chance, probably even a direct admit to Smith. And I agree with harperharper; it is definitely easier for students in state. UMD is the state flagship, they have to take a majority of instaters. Even though UMD is notorious for accepting a large amount of OOS students, they still have to keep up percentages in order to be sponsored by MD.
