<p>I am from Mauritius (African country) and Asian(yellow) female
Both parents and I born in Mauritius, which makes me Asian or African when applying to colleges?:s
SAT: 2230
SAT Test French 800
Maths level 1: I didn't take it yet, but will in October, I expect a 650 :s
I am really bad in maths...
I am currently in a British-education system, with the O levels and A levels
For O levels I got 3 As and 3Bs
My 12th year in highschool, 1st semester results: A in French B+ in Literature in English B+ in Sociology B in Art and Design and C in GP
2nd semester results: A French, B+ in Lit. In English, B in Sociology, B in Art and Design and B in GP
Mock A level exams results: A+ French A Lit.in English, A Sociology, A Art and Design and a in GP.
I did 3years science
5years maths
6years foreign language
6years English
6 years social sciences
History is not available in our school.
I am usually among the top 10 % of my grade. My school is considered to be a 'Star school' in my country, as such the marking is really harsh...
My dad has a university diploma (2years) and mom only high school.
I consider myself to have quite good writing skills and I am confident that I will try to do my best in Personal statement and the common app essay.
My forecasted results are A*,A,A,A,A

Karate 1.5 year 10th kyu.
3 art competitions, in which I was the first-organised by Rotary club, another being inter-high school and I was 2nd.
Civic Action Team, provided school with a fully furnished Audio visual room.
Student council for 3years.
School choir for 2years.
Chinese dance school for 3years,performed for various national events.
Alliance Francaise 3 years. (French certificate)</p>

<li><p>Your list is top heavy. You need to add a safety school (one not as competitive as those on your list).</p></li>
<li><p>You are not required to put your race down on the application, but if you do - you are Asian and NOT “yellow.” Many people in America get offended when one refers to Asians as “yellow.”</p></li>

Well in my country, it’s considered to be a joke to call asians yellow. We’re very multi-racial :smiley:
How important is it for me to score good points in SAT subject test maths1?</p>

<p>It is easier to get good score from Math 2. Math 1 curve is very harsh.</p>

<p>You need to add more less-competitive schools on your list.</p>
