-Mid reach: UChicago, WashU, Berkeley
-Low reach: Johns Hopkins, UCLA

Good luck! :)

(And yes, you can send whatever supplementary materials you want.)

Excellent scores, and GPA. Nice looking ECs and profile.

High Reach: Yale, Stanford, Princeton, Columbia

Mid Reach: University of Pennsylvania, Washington U., U-Chicago (If you have excellent essays, you can grab it.)

Low Reach / Match: Berkeley, Johns Hopkins, UCLA.

TBT and david
UCLA and UCB are almost safety for OP.

OP

My friends and I (Asian males, HS class of 2011) had better numbers and awards and ECs than you.
HYPSM and Columbia: WL or Rejected (all of us)
Wash U: WL (all of us)
Uchicago: 2 accepted and 2 rejected

Do you get the idea?

^Don’t get discouraged by that information. We have no idea exactly what those colleges’ adcoms were looking for in 2011, nor do we know about those students’ applications.

And no, Berkeley is not a safety.

From CA and 2300+ and 4.0UWGPA
UCB and UCLA are almost safeties for OP

Explain to me why UCB is mid-reach and UCLA is low-reach!

Your scores and extracurricular activities look great! But most of the colleges on your list are reach schools for everyone. Best of luck!

Thanks you everyone! Just making a list of colleges to apply to and just needed to make sure I wasn’t applying to too many reaches.
