<p>Hello! Please chance me. I am a high school junior looking at JHU first and foremost, Cornell, UW, UNC - Chapel Hill, Cal Tech, Stanford and Washington U in St. Louis</p>
<p>3.65 UW GPA (low, I understand, but rising in a steep manner)
2230 projected SAT, 33 projected ACT
African American (not using it as a crutch, but I realize it may alter a college's decision)
Above average ECs (I think) including over 200 hrs community service, 4 years Varsity swimming, club swimming for 20+ hrs a week (team captain), apprenticeship in Neuroscience at Oregon Health and Science University, U.S. ambassador sent to Russia to swim with their national team, NHS, 12 academic/socially uplifting clubs, lifeguarding and academic tutoring</p>
<p>If you could please provide feedback I would greatly appreciate it! I just wish to know if I am on the right track and whether or not I should adjust my college search</p>
<p>P.S. I, as of now, want to double major in Biology and Chemistry</p>
<p>This is going to depend on your essays, ECs in detail,
and possibly your race, sex, and geographic location.
You GPA is not great. You can show JHU a higher GPA if you wait to apply
Regular decision, because you’ll have your senior semester in. O wait,
I just read you’re black. Yeah, That will probably be enough to get you in based on your stats.
Now don’t get me wrong, you have wonderful ECs. Beware, if you get less
than an 2000 on the SAT, don’t expect to get in. Good luck bro, I’m ED too!
Why don’t you major in Neuroscience? By the way, don’t do chance me’s without
providing you SAT!!! It is annoying because people will get your hopes up
and then you might not do well. Maybe if we both get in to JHU we can meet up lol.</p>
<p>JHU: close Reach
Cornell: if you get the SAT than yes.(same with JHU)
UW: not sure
UNC:Yeah probably
Caltech: ONLY if you get the SAT and even then it’s a reach.
Stanford: reach
Washington U:not sure</p>
<p>I’m sorry if I offended you, but if you happen to get in, it might be due to
your race, or EXTREMELY good recs/essays. No Asians like
myself are getting into JHU with a 3.65 :.(</p>
<p>Cornell, UW, UNC - Chapel Hill, Cal Tech, Stanford and Washington U</p>
<p>Johns Hopkins ED - Reach with a 2230-2260, Low reach with a 2270+
Cornell - Reach with 2230-2290, Low reach with a 2300+
UNC - Mid reach if you’re OOS (which I assume you are based on your EC’s), match otherwise.
UW - Very low match if you’re IS, and low match if you’re OOS
Caltech, Stanford - Impossible to predict, but very high reach regardless.
WUSTL - Possible, but still a reach.</p>
<p>Alright first of all, african american race will DEF help you compared to others… Your GPA is low… im pretty sure you know that. You say its on a steep incline: if you can get it upto 3.73+ and that area and you have 2250, 34 SAT/ACT status you definitly have a chance. You mentioned No APs, that could hurt you becuase colleges dont like seeing alot (if any) Bs and such on honors and normal courses. I guess its gonna come upto your ECs and Essays. Highlight them with a flagship statement and you have a chance.</p>
<p>I still see high high high match as the best outcome though… </p>
<p>Oh! I apologize for not including that but my course load is the most rigorous at my school, including all honors and AP (6 AP total). Thanks for the feedback!</p>
<p>They all seem like reaches because of your GPA but you have a good test score so I think it will all boil down to your application (essay, lors)</p>
<p>Your GPA is on the low side (but you already know that), your SAT’s really good, and your ECs are really interesting (and I mean that in a really good way!) I think if you write a good essay(s) and get good teacher recommendations, you could be competitive (also taking into consideration your race; I’m black, too, so I understand haha). I think you have a pretty good shot at JHU! Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor! :)</p>
