Hey everyone,
I recently visited BC with my Aunt (an alum) and absolutely LOVED the school! I’m a high school junior (white, catholic, female) and I’m thinking of applying EA to BC next year.

GPA: 3.63 w cum (freshman and sophomore year)
-upward trend
-Current=3.86 w

AP Lang and Comp
AP U.S. History
Honors Spanish 5
Honors History (sophomore year)
Honors Bio (sophomore year)

Standardized testing:
Haven’t taken the SAT yet. I just took the PSAT’s this past October and haven’t gotten the results back but my goal score is between 1900-2000 range.

Extracurriculars:
-Field Hockey (3 years)
-Ski Team (freshman year)
-Golf Team (sophomore year)
-write for High School newspaper
-Key Club (2 years)
-Youth Group (2 years)
-People to People Australia trip last summer
-Write fashion blog (not sure if this helps or not)
-Attended Teen Vogue Fashion U (1/4 applicants accepted)
-Ski Instructor (2 years)

Intended major: English/journalism (I don’t think BC has journalism though)

Question: Does it help my chances at all if my Aunt is a BC alum? I know she’s not my mom or dad but not sure if it still makes a difference. Aunt is well connected w/ BC (friends on board) and has helped interview applicants etc. Also aunt is a donor (I think).

I understand that BC is a very competitive school to get into but as of right now it is my first choice (if it still is next year I’m considering applying ED). I just want to know if I even have a shot. I think it’s definitely a reach school for me. Also, does anyone have any tips for EC’s etc.?

Thanks so much!
