i'm applyling to brown (ED), cornell, northwestern, Johns Hopkins, UC berkeley, LA, sandiego, UIUC, boston college, boston university, purdue, NYU, U mich, tuft, carnegie mellon, USC, Washu...

oh for additional high school info... last year our school sent 5 to harvard, 15 to stanford, more than 100 to berkeley + LA, more than 10 to cornell 6 to MIT... total student per grade is 600 ish...

Your grades are terrific, but your SAT scores aren't, and your ECs aren't exciting. I don't think you'll fare too well at the top schools. You will have no chance at UC-Berkeley or UCLA if out of state. Watch your spelling carefully on your applications.

If in state for the UCs

Berkeley- slight reach
UCLA- match/slight reach
UCSD- safe match

if OOS

Berkeley- reach
UCLA- reach
UCSD- slight reach

other schools

Brown ED- slight reach
Cornell (assuming CAS)- reach
Northwestern- reach
Hopkins- slight reach
UIUC- safe match
BC- match
BU- safe match
Purdue- safety
NYU- match
Michigan (OOS)- match
Tufts- slight reach
CMU- match/slight reach
USC- match
WashU- reach but you never know, they waitlist so many people

"last year our school sent 5 to harvard, 15 to stanford, more than 100 to berkeley + LA, more than 10 to cornell 6 to MIT... total student per grade is 600 ish..."

With a 3.98 at a school of this caliber, i'd say you actually have a great chance at all despite only a 2000 in the SAT

Might look at Holy Cross-Top30 LAC-located 1 hour from Boston. HC is SAT optional and is similar to Boston College.

thanx for all feedbacks:) i appreciate them.
I still couldn't decide where to appy for ED.
should I try cornell? or brown?
i know cornell is easier than brown, iono...
Please give me some suggestions... thanx

Brown ED- slight reach
Cornell (assuming CAS)- reach
Northwestern- reach
Hopkins- slight reach

^ ckmets. how can hopkins be a slight reach if brown is only a slight reach?

brown is definitely a reach for this applicant. maybe even tiptoeing around high reach

id say ED, youd havea much better shot at cornell than brown

If your TOEFL is below the cut off value of some of the colleges, they will reject you.
