Chance me, please (NYU, UPenn, Cornell)

Hey everyone,
I'm interested in transferring next year. I'm a freshman studying business and have a 3.7 gpa. My sat scores are around 1950 if i'm correct and my hs gpa was around 3.4 (not exact because my grades were converted from an international system). I have decent ECs and I think good recs. I'm also an international student and can speak four languages fluently. I can write a really good essay if I give it time and hard work.

Do I have a chance of getting into UPenn (Wharton), Cornell (AEM) or NYU (Stern)? Would applying be worth it or just a waste of time?

Thanks

UPenn is a reach. Wharton is outstanding and SAT too low. Cornell also a reach, you need good EC’s. NYU high match,

Wharton and Stern are reaches. Stern only admitted 25 out of 1000+ (~2%) external transfer applicants. Cornell may be easier but still at least a low reach for you. You definitely need a lot more on your app.

AEM is definitely more than a low reach. It’s acceptance rate is routinely below 10% and is dropping every year. However, almost half of its graduating class is made up of transfers so I’d say it’s worth applying. Just don’t get your hopes up. Stern is the most attainable of the three by far.

NYU Stern is also a reach.

“half of its class is made up of transfers” OP is trying to transfer so Cornell AEM might give him the best school. No need to get defensive - Cornell is known for taking a ton of transfers which is why I said Cornell might be OPs best shot. It is still an Ivy and a good school.

Great, thanks for your comments I’ll probably take my chances with NYU and/or Cornell.

Apply to Wharton as well you never really know - these things are always a crapshoot.

NYU Stern is a great school, and harder to get into than regular NYU. I think you are a great candidate, but apply ED if its where you want to be. Stern is especially hard to transfer into because so many students from within NYU are also trying to transfer into it.

Upenn and Cornell are reaches, especially Upenn. nyu is a high match. Good luck! Chance back?
