2 things. college does not look at your weighted GPA, and where are your SAT or ACT scores?

I got a 1900 my first time taking them but I am of course going to take them again. Do I have a shot?

Wait…colleges don’t look at weighted GPA? Then how do they determine courseload rigor?

Weighted GPA means nothing because schools offer varying amounts of AP classes and some have restrictions on the number of honors and APs students can take. You can’t compare those across schools. They are also weighted differently, some with number grades and some on a scale of 1-6.

However, they look at your transcript and your counselor recommendation to see rigor. Transcript obviously shows the classes you took and your grades. The counselor recommendation also provides information about the school like how many of the weighted classes they offer and any limitations. So if you have a 3.9 GPA with just academic and honors classes when your school offers 6-7 AP courses, that’s not nearly as impressive as a few Bs in AP courses.
