Chance me please? OOS

<p>Hi! I go to a competitive public school in Connecticut with about 3,000 students. UNC is my top choice.
GPA: I have a 3.8/4.0
My grades are A's and B's with 2 C's from freshman year
My first SAT score is a 1900 but I will be taking them again.</p>

4 years of honors History (1 AP Pyschology)
2 years of honors English (fresh & soph)
1 semester of Honors Brit Lit
1 semester of Honors American Lit
1 year AP English (senior class only)
4 years of Math (geometry and algebra II- Honors; pre-calc-Regular; AB Calc)
4 years of science (1 honors bio, 1 honors chem, 1 AP Bio and 1 honors physics)
4 years of spanish
4 years of latin (1 Honors Latin Seminar)</p>

National Honor Society
100+ hours of Community Service
I am a peer mentor to incoming students in my school (3 years)
I have been a member of Save the Children raising tens of thousands of dollars (7 years, officer- 3 years)
Camp counselor at Camp Jabberwocky, a camp for people of all ages with disabilities (2 years)
Big Brothers Big Sisters (2 years)
Habitat for Humanity (2 years)
I started a pen-pal letter writing club to US Soldiers in the war sending over thousands of letters per year. (2 years)
Worked at a Children's Bookstore for two summers
I have ran over 20 races for numerous charities (some of which I helped organize)</p>

<p>You have a shot but you don’t seem like an outstanding applicant to me. Their OOS is very very competitive accepting maybe 1000 or so in the whole country. </p>

<p>Compare yourself to someone who got in at my school:</p>

<p>6 AP classes with A’s in all of them. ( 4’s and 5’s on the exams )
5 credits in Spanish (three of which were honors)
Ranked 1st in the class.
President of NHS at our school.
She never made a B in high school.
2140 SAT
300+ hours of community service.
State Champion in Softball, also played volleyball and basketball all the way through high school. And she is in state, making it easy for her to get it.</p>

<p>Oh yeah, she also has a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.8 weighted.</p>
