I have time from now till then so I’m open to all thoughts/advice & criticism
Thanks,
Hey hkian9,
You’ll have no problem getting into Ohio State. Your SAT is above their average and you have plenty of AP’s and other EC’s. Also they don’t super score so just send in your highest one. Math and Reading are what really matter so even though its a few points lower I would send in your 1970 score. The math and reading for that one is 1370 (which is excellent) where as your 2030 score has a combined math and reading of 1270. A ‘golden’ number that alot of schools look for is 1300 combined math and reading so your 1410 would really stand out. Also theres no harm in applying early so I would.
Looks good! Definitely apply early, better chance of getting in as well as a much better chance of acceptance into one of OSU’s Honors/Scholars programs if you decide to apply to them.
@hkian9 Based on your 1970 composite (1370 math and critical reading) you qualify to receive the Buckeye merit aid Scholarship for out-of-state (OOS) students worth $12,000 per year, plus an additional $2,000 or $3,000 scholarship depending on your class rank or gpa (if your school does not rank). But in order to be eligible to receive these OOS scholarships you must have your application submitted, along with all supporting documents (such as letters of recommendation, school report and transcript) by the November 1 Early Action deadline. Thats as good a reason as any to get your application in early. OSU is strict about that deadline.
Yep. You should get in. Apply early just to get it done with. Then focus on Georgia Tech… right?
Your SAT score is average for OSU, as their ACT score average is 27-31. But your GPA seems a little on the lower side. I have a friend who didn’t get in with a 1930 SAT top 20%. But best of luck to you.
