My gpa and test scores aren’t very good, but they improved tremendously senior year. I also applied to the summer program, and I’m undecided. Penn state is my dream school.
Cumulative gpa- 2.9 (I’m a senior and right now I have a 3.8 gpa. So I’m doing better.)
Sat- 1080
I took 2 AP classes, and 7 honors classes
I was apart of the film club, I volunteer at my local church and hospital. I also help my mom take care of my 8 younger siblings after school everyday.
It sounds like you already applied? Did you apply before the priority deadline?
If you applied after the priority deadline with a low GPA and low SAT – I think you will probably be offered a branch campus. GPA is 2/3 of the decision, and I am not sure how much they take upward trends into account.
Penn State doesn’t consider senior year grades at all. So your improved senior year, while admirable, will be of no help to you. With a 2.9 and 1080, chances are very good that you will be offered the 2+2 where you begin the first two years at one the commonwealth branch campuses, and finish last 2 years at UP. Especially if you applied after the priority deadline which it seems you have. Summer is for slightly lower stats than direct fall entry…your stats are a lot lower than the average so I think you will likely get a branch.
