great letters of reccomendation

So with all this info what are your thoughts..im hoping my major not being very popular and being hispanic would help a lot..and im not there to party im there bc PSU is the only school in the northeast with Petroleum engineering

Again, your GPA and SAT are kind of low for Penn State. You stated that you are Puerto Rican, so is your native language Spanish? If it is then take the TOEFL, all you need to get is around a 80 to get into Penn State and around a 85-88 for Petroleum. If your native language is not English, your CR is still good enough, But I would not recommend you to submit SAT score since its not high.

no its not my native langauge…i applied priority application deadline so im nervous since i know its a reach school…i just hope going to a great school thats nationally recognized and having good ec’s will help…should i try and retake the sat with but not have it in by the priority or should i just submit what i have

I dont understand. You said that your GPA is 85% which is around a 3.4 and is quite ok for Penn State, but then in parentheses you put in 3.0. Also, I think there is a quite low chance you will get accepted if you submit your SAT right now, but again I don’t know because I see quite some people submit low scores and still got accepted. If you definitely sure that you will have a great improvement on SAT by retaking it then just don’t submit application yet. If you not sure or completely dont think so, then just submit right now and hope for the best.

If you are not going to start off in University Park and go there later, I think your chance is quite good, if thats what you want.
