SAT: 2370 in 1 sitting, 800M, 800CR, 770W - retaking - projecting 2400

Most likely not necessary since M and CR is already a 1600. I’d spend this time working on your essays instead. Your EC’s may be your only “weakness”, if I had to find something weak(er) in your resume. You’ll be competitive at most of these top-tier schools but, as you know, beginning with Stanford, they are hard to predict. Does your user name have anything to do with the company you somehow are affiliated with? If so, PM me so I can pass on a shout-out to a friend of mine.

with your record, you can limit your applications to fewer colleges. you have too many. what is your major?

Uhm…retaking 2370? Nothing better to do? I’m not trying to be mean but don’t you have something better to do with a Saturday? I mean doesn’t a 2400 fit in the margin of error with a 2370? idk selix008, you might being trying a little too hard here–how about going to the movies or something?

thank you, k4r3n2.

By ‘projecting’ do you mean on the CommonApp form? Can we do that?I have to take my Subj tests in Nov. and I was wondering if I should write the highest scores from a previous sitting or I should just leave it blank,or can I write a ‘projected score’?
Sorry for bargeing into your thread, but your post was concerned with my doubt :)

Why are you retaking the SAT?

^@PiperXP: I guess on the MIT question “What’s something you do just for the fun of it?”, he’s going to put taking the SAT? :P

How do you expect to get in anywhere with only a 770 writing?

I have retaken the SAT, confirmed 2400. Took the ACT, scored 36 on all subscore subsections. What are my chances now? Anyone have anymore doubts?

^ Pretty superfluous.

ur grades are solid but they arent everything like every1 applying to these schools. their grades and testing are solid u gotta have some unique essays to differentiate u from them

You’re academically qualified… like 80% of applicants are.

[MIT Admissions | Blog Entry: “Applying Sideways”](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/apply/the_selection_process_application_reading_committee_and_decisions/applying_sideways.shtml)

This is MIT Chris’ blog post about applying sideways to MIT. His three suggestions for best chances:

Do well in school. (OK, you did that obviously).

Pursue your passion. (If you passion was perfect scores and grades, you did that, but I don’t think that is what Chris had in mind.)

Be nice. (Only you and your classmates can answer that.)

If my son by some miracle should be accepted at MIT, I will hope that the rest of his classmates spent more time on their passions and their compassion. They will make much better friends.

I don’t know selix, those scores still seem pretty low for MIT.

Again,

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/massachusetts-institute-technology/939227-reminder-no-one-not-even-me-can-give-you-accurate-chance-mit.html

There are two possibilities, the first one is that this thread is a bogus…The second one is that selix is very st***d.

No doubts here–you definitely had nothing better to do with a Saturday. Hmmm…I’d say your chances are pretty low.

All this madness with grades. Chill !

selix008, if what you’re saying is true, then yes you have good grades. However, if you’re not smart enough to understand that you have good grades and need to post here and ask what other people think, then maybe you should not be admitted. If this is not the case, and if you actually are aware that you have good grades but you’re just trying to show off, then you should not be admitted! This is my opinion ;)
