Wanted major: Biological science or neuroscience</p>

<ul>
<li>GPA: 3.8 weighted (9th: 3.6, 10th: 4.0, 11th: 4.0, 12th: 4.2 (maybe))
All honors class and 7 APs counting the ones I'm taking rite now (BC, gov, physics, lit)</li>
</ul>

<p>I'm probs right in the middle or in the 3rd quartile of my school,
but my school is in top 5 public high school of the nation if that makes any difference.</p>

<ul>
<li>3 AP test (AP Psych, AP US History, AP Bio: from the left, 5, 3, 4)</li>
<li>SAT Super: reading 650, math 800, writing 720 (2170)</li>
<li>ACT w/ writing: 35 composite (33, 36, 36, 35, 34)</li>
<li>SAT II: Math 770, bio 730, US history 710</li>
</ul>

JV softball captain, pulled up for varsity (4 years)
Cultural club vice prez and publicist (4 years)
Neuroscience society - tried brain bee(3 years)
Volunteered for this one particular group for 5 years
National Honor Society
Elementary tutorings (two clubs , each for 2 years)
other minor club and sports activities</p>

<p>Awards: AP Scholar Awards
National Merit Commended
National Spanish Exam silver and bronze on both level 2 and 3
Student leadership awards
In school essay award - really nothing much</p>

<p>Essays: Some normal, but I have this one essay which all of my teachers told me was very unique and very interesting. </p>

<p>Recommendation: okay. I was real close with these two teachers.</p>

<p>How high are my chances? I'll chance back too.
Tell me if they are all reaches.. for all four of them</p>

Where’s Duke at on your list?! :slight_smile:
BTW: the most important advice I can give you is to be yourself and show yourself off in college essays. Oh and don’t use college confidential to chance yourself…there are jerks on here that will make you feel worthless.</p>

<p>I’m not too sure about the rest, but I am applying to Johns Hopkins too, albeit for engineering. I’d say your marks and EC’s are average for Johns Hopkins, but your ranking <em>might</em> hurt you depending on how competitive your school is. Being asian pulls that down a bit too unfortunately. (I’m an asian too T_T) </p>

<p>That said, Johns Hopkins places a ton of emphasis on the essays and recommendations, so depending on them you might stand a good chance. Good luck from an applicant to another!</p>

UVA-reach if oos low reach in state</p>

<p>if interested in georgetown might also look at Holy Cross-very good science programs. HC has Jan.15th application deadline and is need-blind for admissions.</p>

<p>thanks everyone! yeah 3.8 weighted… I crashed pretty hard freshman year… and I was rejected from UVA today… lol a little bit of heart break there</p>
