Chance me please? RD

Any input is helpful!!

GPA: 4.0 (uw), we don't do weighted so I'm not sure about that.

Class Rank: 1 (out of 430ish)

ACT: 31 (I think this is the aspect I am most nervous about)

Main activities:
Cross Country (two-time captain, lettered all four years)
Track (Two-time captain, lettered all years thus far, all-conference athlete)
Keyclub (Vice-president 2011-2012, President 2012-2013, over 150 hours of
community service)
Local hospital NICU/palliative care volunteer w/ over 65 hours of service
(and various others, but those are the biggies)

Job: works at a hardware store full time during the summer and around 15 hours/week
during school since early 2011.

Past AP Classes: APUSH, AP Bio, AP Lang, AP Euro (all 5's thus far except for AP Euro, which was a 3).

Current AP Classes: AP Lit, AP Calc BC, AP Psych. The only other AP classes offered at my school are AP Calc AB, AP Gov, and AP World

Other Classes: It's easier just to tell you I have taken the highest level classes offered for every subject all four years of high school (sorry that sounds extremely obnoxious, but it's true!)

Letters of Rec: Quite nice and very comprehensive

Other: I am a first generation college student

I'm not sure if I missed anything big... please let me know what you think, it would mean a lot!

Grades, classes, and ECs look good (especially ECs), but your ACT is slightly worrisome. Are you a URM at all? I think you’ll definitely be in if you had good essays, deferred or accepted if you didn’t.

Hi! Awesome GPA, pretty good rigor, decent ECs! Again, the ACT is your “worst” aspect, still not being bad at all. The mid 50% accepted is 31-34, so there are people accepted will lower ACTs than you. I think that being 1st generation can help you a lot as well. I think you have a really good chance!!
Chance me? :)

I am not URM, and thank you for the input! I’m so nervous about all of this! I would chance you but I literally have zero authority on the subject. Admittedly, I have not done enough research on Notre Dame to give any kind of advice!

I think you look great! Yes, the ACT is a bit low, but still within the “averages” that ND posts. You have a fantastic rank! Great EC’s. You work…etc. I really think if you put good effort into your essays and really show your unique qualities, you have a great chance! Is ND your first choice? If so, find a way to let them know! They love that. Good luck!
