Chance me please?! Really depressed :(

Hi!
So basically i just got rejected from Wellesley and Im really eginning to dout now whether I'll get in anywhere!! Please Chance me! Will chance back! :)

Im from India so we dont have GPA's so i dont know exactly how to explain my grades...
Anyway,
my SAT score is - 770(math)
700(reading)
660 (writing)
total = 2130

PSAT junior year = 98 percentile

My SAT 2's are - 680(literature)
680( Math level 2)

AP's - English language - 4
English Literature- 5

Toefl (its an exam which tests non-US citizens' proficiency in english) - 112/120

Apart from these,
my school grades have been really good in my 9th and 10th grade, but dropped quite a bit in my 11th and 12th grade (junior and senior) because of an illness that i had to go through surgery for and stuff, so i got a D in one of those exams...my councellor will be putting in an explanation in my grade transcript explaining the drop...and im really worried about that.....so could that drastically affect my application??

My resume is pretty decent - with a combination of decent social service hours, a whole lot of hours with an environmental organization that ive been working with for over 2 years, certificates for writing competitions and stuff that i have won, and been published in magazines,i am debates captain in my school and have awards for activites and competitions in my native cultural language (Hindi).
I also have given 2 grade level exams in Piano...and also in Hindustani Classical Music (Indian music). I am also doing an internship for a company (almost been 6 months now)...
I was also selected to go to the UK for a cultural exchange based on a web based project my friends and i had done that won...and some other stuff that i cant think of right now...

This is the stuff i can think of right now...and im planning on applying to these colleges -
Berkeley,
Barnard,
Carnegie Mellon,
NYU,
UCLA.

What do you think are my chances of getting into these places at the moment?

Please help!! And do advise me if there's any way i could better my chances!!
I would be extremely grateful for any feedback! Thanks!!

I think you would need higher SATIIs for most of these schools. Can you give an actual PSAT score? Also the lack of APs isn’t the best.
I think you have a chance at UCLA and NYU. I don’t even know what Barnard is. CMU I wouldn’t count on. They’re heavy on the math and science, which you aren’t heavy on. I don’t think you have too good a shot at Berkeley either.
(btw NYU could be affected by if you chose a school or not in advance)

chance me back?

Hopefully you don’t need financial aid as 4 out of 5 of your schools are very unlikely to give any.

I am an Indian too!!
So, IMO you will have a good chance at UCLA and UCB if you get your Maths score upto 750 and take Phy. and Chem. SAT IIs.
Then, ideally be in top 10% of ur class and take part in olympiads.
Have you taken part in any olympiads like RMO, IMO, NTSE, NSTSE ??

In my opinion, you should polish our application a little more and hope for the best.
You can chance me too, " Help me decide Safeties and Reaches" is the title. :)

@ Zorn96 - Thank you for your honest feedback! I appreciate it…I forgot to mention that Im going to be an English or Pol science major…im not doing engineering or similar math/science subjects… so i hope they dont judge me much for that…
as far as the APs go… our school offers very few…around 4 i think… so that considered…hopefully colleges will understand…
But anyway thank you!

@Waverly - No i dont need financial aid…yes you’re right… almost all of them do not offer financial aid to international students…

@Mrinal - Hey nice to meet another Indian here! :stuck_out_tongue: Yes I have given olympiads and stuff… even held a state-level rank in the All India Computer Science Olympiad… LOL i forgot to mention that! :stuck_out_tongue: O and I must clarify, Im not doing engineering or something like that… I dont really need chem and Physics SAT 2 then, right? I’ll probably be an English major…

Your school list has no real safety. If you are not applying for Fin Aid, you should have put more safety schools. Since the competition from Indian students in those schools will be very high with much higher class rank , SAT, AP /IB scores.

I would’ve applied to some safeties if I were you also. However, my white friend had a similar resume and got into NYU. It’s all chance at admissions I suppose, the fact that you are Indian may help ( or maybe the other way around? I’m not sure. )
