Good job challenging yourself with the APs. I think you have a good chance at most of the UCs, with Berkeley and LA being reaches obviously. I would really focus on the SAT; for UCB, UCLA, or USC you should probably break 2100. And if you have a chance, I would try some subject tests; they aren’t required but can only help you. Could you chance me once I make one of these threads? Thanks (I will let you know once I make one)

I don’t know too much about the UCs but it sounds like you have a good chance if you bring up your SAT. Sorry I can’t be more help than that.

Stanford-high reach
Berkeley-low reach
Santa Barbara-match
Santa Clara-match
USC-low reach/high match

This probably isn’t the answer you’re looking for, but I have to say it. Don’t worry too much about the school you get into. There, I said it…

The school you attend makes no difference. It’s what you do at that school. You could attend the University of Telephone Pole and do well and you’ll go places in life. Work on your grades, your SAT, your extra-curriculars, and apply everywhere. But honestly, you’re young. You should be focused on having fun.

I go to USC but I got in with a very, very, very low GPA. USC is a very understanding school and is much different than public schools that focus way more on GPA and empirical statistics to admit you. I think you’ll have a better time at a private university at the end of the day because it’s just a higher quality education. Not necessarily in the teachers, or the stuff you learn, but in the attention given to individual students. That’s my two cents.

Bottom Line: Stop worrying and apply everywhere. You’ll do fine.
