Stanford- extremely high reach, because your scores are low
UCB- reach, but you might get in because you have strong EC’s
UCLA- low-middle reach, same as above
USC- match

What’s your intended major? The strongest thing I see in your extracurriculars is theater/music stuff. It looks like you’re challenging yourself a lot with a bunch of APs and you’ve got some good community service stuff. Your GPA’s good but you should really consider trying to strengthen your standardized test scores. You’d do well to bump your ACT at or over the 30 barrier and your SAT over the 2000 to add some strength to your application to some of these reach schools. I’d say 3 things then:
- As far as extracurriculars, seal the deal next year with something that’ll make them really sure you’re dedicated to something and not spread too thin.
- Obviously it’s always good to bump up your standardized scores.
- Are these the only schools you’re looking at? Just to be 100% safe, you should look for some close matches or safeties to balance out these high-achieving schools. Don’t get me wrong, these are great, it’s just overwhelming to see only those kinds of schools.

Also, if you have the time and if you’d be so kind, could you please chance me back? :]

Okay thanks guys for your opinions so far. And yeah of course I’ll chance you back.

Anybody else who’d like to chance me feel free to! :D

Stanford - Virtually impossible. Check out the link below. A 4.0 had a 9% admit rate. An ACT 29 had a 3% admit rate and candidates with sub-600 CR SATs had a 2% admit rate. In short I’d save the application fee and put it toward other schools.

[Applicant Profile : Stanford University](http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/basics/selection/profile.html)

UCB - High Match/Low Reach. Your GPA is fine, your Math SAT is at the 75th%-tile though your ACT is below the mid-point and your CR SAT is well below the 25th%-tile.

UCLA - High Match. A statistically slightly better story than UCB.

USC - Same story as UCLA.

http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/1011/FreshmanProfile2010.pdf

As you probably know your CR/English score is what’s holding you back. I’d spend the summer practicing to retake the ACT or SAT in hopes of getting that reading/CR score up substantially. I think if you could get the CR score up to the 680-700 range your chances at UCB, UCLA and USC would improve dramatically. You need to add a few safety schools to your list.
