I don't know what to do. I'm such a bright student. Notice the straight A's and B's in Freshman year and drastically change to B's, C's, D's, and F's? I was going through depression, suicide, loss of family members and friends throughout the two years. I know it's not an excuse but I've changed for the better and I don't know how to prove it to these Universities.

I don't want to go to community college. GAP year is probably plausible but I'd really want to go to one of these colleges instead of doing a Gap Year and/ or Community College. Is there anything I can say/ do that will help me get into the college?

I heard you can get in but only if you maintain an A or B average or something similar. And what is conditional acceptance? Does it pertain to students like me?

Will colleges accept me next year if I get Straight A's and one or two B's if they see my senior year grades explode with a 3.5 GPA Average? I need guidance and my counselors and parents aren't great for advisory.

Did you take any SAT/ACTs?..

Yeah. I got a 1590 on the SATs last year. I took it again two weeks ago and I’m taking the Mathematics I and II in December.

I will be perfectly honest with you man, the gpa seriously brings you down. In my honest opinion I don’t think you’ll stand a chance at Stanford, and with a 1590 I don’t think you can get to many presitigious places. This is only my opnion of course but a 2.8 gpa is really low, quite frankly. Your course rigour is great no doubt but a strong 1st senior semester won’t make up for it imo. I’d say you should go to cc and transfer, in a realistic sense your stats are mediocore/below average but you have some mild extracirriculars I say. But if you actually have a reason on why your grades are that bad, like suicide depression, not like laziness, than I think you should somehow tell the colleges

Hi! Firstly, I need to clarify that I am also a college applicant and my speculation should be taken with a grain of salt.
Despite your gpa being low, there is an upwards trend that colleges will take into account! Also, your extracurriculars are excellent!

Penn State- low reach
Pitt-reach/low reach
Stanford- longshot
Mich. State- low reach/reach
U. Cincinnati- reach

Good luck!

This is a ■■■■■ thread that was cut/pasted twice in the past few months already.

You’ve posted this thing word-for-word 7 times now. You literally get the same type of responses every time.

@RobbyP I know Stanford and RPI are long shots, but what about University of Pittsburgh and Penn State Branch Campuses?

@renoverchat and MYOS1634: I’ve posted this multiple times because no one on the other posts replied to the other posts. Sorry to disappoint you, but I need help.

@Vee100196 How about University of Pitt and Penn State branch campus?

My friend who was just recently accepted into Penn State said I had a chance at getting into a branch campus, but definitely not the main campus. Is this true?

If this is not a ■■■■■ thread, no, you can’t get into Penn State Main Campus but you can get into some branch campuses.

Right now, none of the schools on your list are reachable.

Okay thanks. How far of a reach will it be to get into a branch campus for penn state? And should I send two Letters of Rec. one from my principal for the reason for my bad grades and the other from my calculus teacher who saw my progress from an F to a high C (81%).

81% should be a B-? (high C typically is 77-79 but I guess each school can have their own scale).
Branch campus should be within reach if you are full pay, especially with the upwards trend. Choose one that has on-campus residences and is near an interesting urban center.

okay thanks! I just want to get into a university. campus and residence are negligible at this time.
