Essay idea: frequent power cuts in my hometown + studying with a candle + inner feelings and thoughts aroused by those “insular times” + mom is angry because of power outages + insular situation helped me focus, make important decision, and get away from the busy world + different memories with my candle

Hey! I am not from Mongolia but I spent some time there this past summer. I am fairly well versed in college admissions. I am also fairly familiar with Mongolia at this point (and I’m even trying to learn the language!) Are you still applying to colleges in the USA? As for your school list, they are fine, but with your stats and with the intention of applying ED, I think you have the qualifications to be a little more ambitious and aim for even higher ranked places.

I agree with applying to some higher reach schools if you are able (you are already thinking of many schools). You seem to have good chances at all of the colleges you’ve listed. I also love your essay idea!

Your essay idea is very good.
Are you retaking the SAT?
Soka only has 400 students, so there are few majors and professors. The campus is very pretty but it wouldn’t be a typical college experience. If you like small, look into College of the Atlantic.
Among the three you starred for ED2, pick the one you like best. Theyre all terrific.
