awh 332 clicks and 0 reply :(…does my post look that awful? …bump…

bump 10char~

Your ACT score is low for MIT/Columbia (especially the science if you plan to apply for Columbia Fu) If you can, I’d recommend retaking that. You haven’t taken many AP exams either, so it doesn’t seem like academics is a very strong point.

I also don’t see any hooks that show a passion for a certain area of interest in terms of ECs, besides the gap year that you took off to go to China (which I think is great). Besides that, there isn’t really anything amazing.

Thanks a lot for your help!
You’re right. I only have 2 AP which is below average (I’m from a canadian public high school that only offers 3 AP in total, but probably colleges won’t care much = =). So mostly rely on my 4.0 GPA from Stern and high school.
All of my college courses are math, computer science, economics, or core humanities courses. And my interns are very closely related to financial engineering (mentioned in essays).

Your post did make me nervous lol…would u say if i have any chances of getting in?

Sorry for not mentioning before. Im applying to the financial engineering major at Columbia as a finance major student at Stern. Thanks.

I would apply to a few other transfer schools that are still up there but maybe not Columbia/MIT just in case you don’t get in-- both are extremely cutthroat in terms of admissions, and both are total wildcards! But nonetheless I wish you the best of luck, and applaud your 4.0 at Stern!
