Chance Me Please?Thank You:)

I am currently in my second semester of my junior year and had a 2.7 gpa. I currently have a 3.9 and plan on finishing with a 3.9 as well. I also am planning to get a 4.0 for my first semester of Senior year as well. I have taken the SAT and got a 1760, and I got a 27 on my ACT. I am going to take both of them again.

-My EC’s

  • are 3 years of volunteering at a library branch
    -4years of high school soccer
-captain of club team for 2 years
-10 years of soccer in total.
  • 4 years of environmental club
  • president of the club for senior year
  • started a different beach clean up club
  • GLA trip to Ghana over the summer
  • first generation college

Work experience

  • private soccer lessons
  • babysitting
By the end of my first semester of senior year, I will have taken 2 AP,'s (apush, gov)
I didn’t have much motivation as a kid and had a hard time in school due to poor motivation from my parents. I really tried to step up my game in my last 2 years of high school. My parents are from a foreign country in Asia and came to the California for me to have a good education. What are my chances of getting into a decent/upper out of state university for me( I live in CA, I wanna go out of state).
I also have a private college counselor that is gonna help me write my essays and other things in my portfolio to make it look better.

I wanna apply to schools such as CU Boulder, University of Arizona, University of Oregon, Indiana University, Syracuse University, FSU, UF, Univeristy of Wisconsin, University of Iowa, Penn State, Tulane, ASU, University of Georgia, University of Virgina, UMich, MSU. University of Alabma, University of Hawaii

Also my counselor told me that if your gpa chances for the better all of a sudden that colleges notice that and realize that you really tried hard. If I had average of 2.7 after my first semester of Junior year and got a 3.9 gpa my second semester what would my gpa be? And then if I got a 4.0 my first semester of Senior year? Would my gpa be above 3.0? All my classes are 5 credits and I am already above credits because of my High School soccer

I also didn’t mention I took a class at SMC for extra gpa points and received an A in it. I am planning on taking another one this summer.

move to chance page.

Average GPA after 1st semester junior year:
[2.7(5 semesters) + 3.9(1 semester) + 4.0*(1 semester)]/(6 semesters) = 3.06

If you can keep up the 3.9 and get a 4.0 with good course rigor 1st semester next year, you should finish with a 3.0.

I’m not familiar with admissions for most of these schools, but I think if you can bring the GPA up as you expect, you’ll have a good chance at most of those state schools. I don’t think you have a chance at UVA or UMich, as the OOS competition is only slightly below Ivy-level. I think UF and UW-M are also a bit more competitive.

Tulane admissions is sort of unpredictable and they sometimes accepts students with similar stats, but it’s unlikely at the moment. If you can improve your ACT score to 29-31 (1950-2050 SAT on the old score) placing you in the mid-range, I think your chances will improve significantly, although it will still be a reach.

What are your financial constraints? Those OOS state schools won’t provide financial aid, and will be fairly pricey.

I am able to pay whatever it takes to pay for the college , I am fairly wealthy? And what about some of the other school I meantioned? Thanks for the feedback

What public universities would you reccomened if I am looking for pretty big public universities OOS for me
