The SAT is going to hurt, and I don’t know much about IB grades, so I can’t really give an accurate estimate :(

i think your SAT is OK. With a great essay & great recommendations, I think you can get in! According to Business Week, Boston College’s middle 80 % ranges from 1270-1410 ([Boston College Undergrad Profile](<a href=“Bloomberg Businessweek - Bloomberg”>Bloomberg Businessweek - Bloomberg)) Just make sure you show interest I think that is key with just about every institution you apply to! I’m applying to, Good Luck!

p.s. Chance me back please! : )

afitscher- oooo, I feel like a big dufus! HAHAH. Thanks for elaborating!

thanks everyone for replying!

another question
do students doing IB gain any advantage?
and what predicted IB score is good enough for BC? thanks

bump, anyone? thanks for replying!

To be honest, you’re going to have a hard time getting in. The glaring weakness in your application has to be the SAT score. As far as the IB curriculum goes, I would really doubt taking IB courses would help you all too much. I realize that IB courses maybe harder than AP courses, but once you receive 30k+ applicants with the majority of them taking multiple AP and IB classes, the advantage of taking an IB course is pretty much null.

Other helpful stats to post would be the number of hours you volunteered, ethnicity, state/country you’re applying from. This information could either help or hurt your chances.
