<p>I'm planning to go into the field of Mechanical Engineering, but I'm not too sure if I'll get into UCSD with my stats :( Chance me please? </p>
<p>~UC GPA - 3.875</p>
<p>~SAT - 2000</p>
<p>~SAT II - Math IIC - 750
Physics - 700</p>
<p>~ 4's on AP Physics and AP US History.<br>
AP Calculus AB and AP Environmental Science are pending</p>
<p>~ Took Logic at Pasadena City College during the summer preceding Senior Year
Planning to take Engineering Surveying 1A the coming spring</p>
<p>~ Varsity Swim "Leader" ( our coach doesnt do Captains) from freshman to Junior year
JV Water Polo "Leader" freshman year</p>
<p>~ about 160 Community Service Hours</p>
<p>~ 4 years in Multicultural Club with my senior year as the Secretary on the Cabinet
1 Year in Linux Club as an Officer on the Cabinet</p>
<p>~ Taking part of my school's 5-man team that's participating in Edison's Challenge and Dash+ Automotive Design competition</p>

<p>Mm but the thing is, I think engineering majors are impacted here, so it might be better to apply as undeclared. You’ll have a much better chance getting accepted but once you’re in, it’ll be really hard to declare as mechanical engineering.</p>
<p>Hum. If i got into SD as an undeclared, how would I go about going into Mech Engineering?

<p>Just apply as your desired major, if you get into UCSD but not the Mechanical Engineering Dept, you will be notified and have a chance to enter undeclared and switch majors later.</p>

<p>Your gpa and sat are decent, not too great but you have been captain for 3 years. You have a pretty good chance.</p>
<p>Decent shot, your impacted major makes it less likely, but you can check your own point total.</p>
