I attend a public high school where students with a 4.0 don’t even break the top 100 out of 450 students. It is extremely competitive as well as challenging. I am in the top 23% of my class with a weighted gpa of 3.87 (3.9 if it is rounded) and around a 3.33/3.45 unweighted gpa which I believe is a B+. In addition, i took the ACT and received a 27 which is approximately an 1860 if converted to SAT scoring. I have been involved in 3 clubs that I have been a part of since sophomore year as well as over 200 hours of community service. I applied to the business school but am worried of my chances due to the already competitive nature as well as the increase in applicants. Last but not least, I have not been doing well in one of my classes ( accounting with a C-) and I’m very nervous because BU requires my first semester grades. How much will this affect m and what are my chances of admission into the business and general studies program? Thank you!!

I think you are a match, but not a definite. Good Luck!

I’d say that it is a high match. The C- isn’t helping you, of course; but if they find the rest of your application to be sufficient for admission, then I doubt they are going to spurn you over a single class. Boston U isn’t an easy school to get into, so I don’t feel comfortable saying that you will definitely get in. But I think you have a very decent shot.

To be honest, I am currently a freshman in SMG and I got accepted with a 27ACT. You should be fine.

@familyguy0108 what were the rest of your stats?

familyguy,do you know the average transfer GPA of your classmates?

I would say it’s between a likely and a reach.
