Essay
- i believe that this essay will be able to strongly cover my freshman and sophomore year grades.

Recommendations
- my math teacher, saludictorian at bates, pretty much garunteed me he would write the best essay possible for me, because of our good standings. ( he can pretty mcuh write "this guy is a genius"). my guidence counsellor also holds a similar view.

other HOOKS?
-brother is autistic
-parents are divorced
- large family (5 children).

duke- high reach
northeastern- match
fordham- match
yale- high reach
cornell- high reach
dartmouth- high reach
bowdoin- reach
davidson- low reach
notre dame- reach
bates- high match
colby- high match

You are too top-heavy, imo, based on your stats and resume and need to add at least one more match and at least one safety to your list, including a financial match and safety (in-state schools).

northeastern is my safety. ■■■■■ i get a full ride there because im a national merit finalist. same with fordham

You have the rank, test scores, and course rigor to get in to basically all the schools on your list. Your ECs are a tad scattered (I can’t really tell what your passions are), and awards aren’t OMG awesome-like. Just curious, what do you want to study? Good luck :)

notre dame-high match/low reach
bates-high match
colby-high match

You are basing your 2300 SAT score off a “projected” 800 in CR for Nov.-- are they posted yet? Your EC’s are really thin to be competitive at many of your top-tier schools.

yeah, i cant really discover my passion yet tbh. I love music, and practiced guitar avidly. I also love math, and i wrote a few of my suppliment essays on that, and will probably write my extracurricular on that as well.

im probably gonna major in math, and then go to medical school

Well as long as you demonstrated a love for music and math, then you’ll let the admcoms know who you are. After scanning your first post again, I see you did mention guitar and some math competitions. I hope it all works out for you  You seem really chill lol.

@ jshain no they arent out yet, but i had a test from a previous year, and after the test i found the answers to the test and realized i got none wrong. If i accidentally missed one, its still an 800. So lets just assume for now the 800 is set in stone. k?

and yeah, the extracurriculars thing. im going to be applying for an internship at a hospital through my school for about 100 hours throughout the schoolyear, should i put that in my extracurriculars even though it hasnt happened yet?

bumpidybump

■■■■■ i love when people keep messing up northeastern with northwestern ;)

northeastern is definately NOT a “low reach” im garunteed a full ride there already.

northwestern maybe ;)

however, thanks for the rest of the chances :)

GOOD LUCK!!!

thanks rick  kinda suprised that u ranked duke harder to get into than dartmouth.

an alumni is writing a letter of recomendation for me to dartmouth. how much will this help my chances? does anyone really know?

JHU-low reach

You have great test scores and grades, and even though your ECs aren’t over-the-top like some people’s on here, you’ve got a great chance of getting in everywhere. Yale is the only one that I would say is a “high reach,” the rest of them are basically matches or low reaches, good luck wherever you go man :).

thanks! im kinda hoping itl be like this! i wanna get into a few of these schools!

I’d say Yale is a high reach and Notre Dame is a reach.

JHU, Duke, NU all low reach.

thanks truzz

Good range of schools. Might also look at Holy Cross and Colgate.
