Hi everyone! I am currently going into my sophomore year at Penn State in the College of Information Sciences and Technology, and I am interested in transferring into UMich’s School of information for my Junior Year (Fall 2017 will be the first time external transfers can transfer directly into it). If anyone can chance me it will be greatly appreciated.

GPA After Freshman Year at PSU: 3.25 (Planning on getting this higher since I still have a semester before applying)

Involved with several clubs and other extracurriculars on campus

I don’t know a ton about UMich, but for transfers the most important part of your app is your GPA by far. You certainly aren’t doing yourself any favors with a 3.2, and it will likely be very difficult to get accepted with a sub-3.5. I would just worry about your grades for now and ease off the EC’s a bit if they’re interfering with your work.
