75% in
15% spring
10% rejected

I’d say you have about a good 85% shot depending on how good your essay is. I am applying there too as a poli-sci major but with a lower GPA , but I won’t be sad if i get rejected…its a good school and all but I really don’t like the location much.

you applying to just UCB, why not more?

Cal is my dream school! And also they have less pre-requisites. I will stay one more year if I don’t get in though. How much better are my chances if I had a 4.0 GPA?

you will never apply with a a 4.0 no matter how long you stay at CC

No, I mean what my chances would have been with a 4.0 GPA. I am aware it is impossible at this point lol

what a silly question

Can anyone answer the question? I’m asking for my friend, so you don’t have to post spam like that.

it is a stupid question

you’re asking:

Your friend is not you nor does he have the same grades, EC’s, essay, or maybe even major. But yeah…I’m the one posting spam.

Well then, what would someone’s chances be with my EC’s, essay, and major with a 4.0? And my friend DOES have the same major and same EC’s. We go to the same school and we’re in the same clubs. Is it really that hard of a question to answer? Just imagine if I posted “4.0” instead of “3.83.” And yes, I’m asking a simple question that is completely relevant to the topic whereas you are acting as if it’s impossible to answer it.

if it is so easy to answer, why don’t you.

It’s like me asking you how to type the word: “moron”

*
how do you type the word moron btw? *

Wow are you like ten years old? Can you just answer it? Geez, if you can chance what I originally posted you should be able to chance the same thing except with a 4.0 GPA. If I could chance myself I wouldn’t have posted this thread in the first place. Seriously though, you’re just being a dick by flaming me (what’s the point?). This little session wouldn’t have even occurred if you’d just answered my question. If you wanna keep arguing over this then PM me instead of spamming the forums.

i love people who are so concerned with the “sanctity” of the forum.

*oh no! we mustn’t *spam ** collegeconfidential.com

its a simple question, yes, and if you are even remotely capable of having a remedial thought, you will know what the answer is.

If you honestly don’t know what your chances are with a 3.83 GPA and a poly sci major, then your community college must exclusively cater to idiots. But if you search long and hard through your magnificent brain and still can’t come up with an answer for how a student with a 4.0 will fare in the UC application process, then i will tell you.

Spamming any forum with pointless chat is stupid, not just this one. There are actually active moderators on forums who deal with that kind of stuff yeah? And do you really have to include the insults? “if you are even remotely capable of having a remedial thought”? Again, all this crap could have been avoided if you’d just answered my first question with a simple answer. And not all 4.0 students get in, so is it not valid for me to ask that question?

first of the mods on these boards are lazy and don’t even care. They will come by one time a week, look at a couple posts, and move back to the “parents forum”. The majority of them are unemployed parents of kids going to college (how novel).

I guess you really aren’t capable conceiving how a 4.0 student will do, how sad, I had the highest hopes for your reasoning ability. Anyway, here is the holy grail, the end game, the mecca that you are looking for, the answer:

chances are good.

ha^
(10 char)

Honestly, you could have just said “the chances of a student transferring to Berkeley with a 4.0GPA are very good, and that’s all I can say” instead of the constant put downs.

honestly, if you didn’t know that then you are in need for much more than some virtual scolding

By far the most entertaining CC conversation I have stumbled upon! Heres one for you… 3.4GPA. IGETC completed
worked 1.5 years for county at veteran counseling center and co-founder of a Iraq/Afghanistan non-profit group.
Army Veteran 1 tour in Iraq.
Poor GPA cause mental health problems when I first came back from Iraq and this was also when I first started going to school. Yes I wrote a bomb essay about this.
I heard that the average gpa of vets accepted there was like 3.2 or something low.
I am going for chemistry

for UCLA the average GPA for admits in chem was a 3.47 ([Profile of Admitted Transfer Students by Major, Fall 2009 - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/Tr_Prof09_mjr.htm)) and there is agreement that UCLA and Berkeley have the same difficulty level to get into for some majors.
For Cal, you would be applying to the College of Chemistry which is separate from L&S so I’m not sure if the statistic would differ.

You seem on par GPA wise, you’re a vet (which will help enormously), your EC’s make most applicants seem like they play in the sandbox for community service, and you seem confident in your essay. I would say you have a decent shot. No percents though.

best of luck
