well it's pretty early but i'm very eager to find out my chances at UCF.
I'm a sophomore pre-ib
my gpa unweighted is 3.8 weighted is roughly 4.2
I rank 14 or 15 in class and my class is about 300 students so i'm about top 5% of class
my sat score is 1560 (im still in geometry)

i'll be entering IB next year and i'm among the students in the IB program that will most likely get straight A's
if my gpa at the end of my senior year is about 4.7 to 5; do you guys think i'll have a good chance of getting in with almost a full ride?
also i participate in key club, math team, and varsity soccer.
I am Vietnamese (Asian)

The highest scholarship UCF gives for in state is the National Merit Scholarship, which pretty much covers tuition and room and board. If you don’t get National Merit, the 2nd highest award is the Provost scholarship, which will cover in state tuition completely, but not much else. Provost is only given to about 70-80 people, so you need to be in the top 1% of applicants usually.

Grants are awarded based on financial standing and time of application.

thank you TheTicks, do you know the requirements for the provost and national merit then? and what do you think are my chances of getting those?

National Merit is given only to National Merit Finalist. To become a finalist, you need to take the PSAT your Junior year and score well (Florida’s cut off is usually around 205-215 out of 240). If you get that score, you may become a semi-finalist. If you submit the application and score similarly or higher to your PSAT gauged score, you will become a finalist.

Provost was just released this year. The average SAT was 1435 on the Reading/Math only. Average GPA was 4.37. There are no other special requirements other than applying to UCF.

If your SAT is a 1560 on only Math/Reading, you have a pretty good shot at getting them. If it is 1560 with writing as well, the score would need to be significantly improved.

I didn’t make something clear with National Merit…If you are named a national merit finalist, you are guaranteed that scholarship from UCF.
