Chance Me Please. (UCLA, UCSB, UCI)

I am attending LAVC community college.

I'm majoring in Political Science, and am applying to UCSB, UCLA, UCI, UCR, CSUN

My top choice is UCLA.

My GPA is 3.49. (I know, not the most competitive, but I will raise it as much as I can)
Not too many EC's.
All Major pre-reqs will be done by spring semester.
Have internship in howard berman's congressional campaign, and am volunteering at UCLA medical center.
TAP certified: No, will not achieve enough honor credits in time for certification.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could chance me on UCLA/UCSB/UCI primarily!

thanks!

The average admitted GPA for UCLA was 3.75. They get over a thousand applicants for PS. That’s a big reach. Try to bring your GPA this Fall. You’re in at Northridge.

TAGs are due in 6 days. Please look into them at your community college. You can TAG at either UCSB, UCI or UCR to guarantee yourself admission to one of those Universities.

Read this
TAG Matrix: <a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors;

Look for the PS section
UCLA Profile for admitted transfer students:http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/adm_tr/Tr_Prof10_mjr.htm</a></p>

Thank you sir.

Yes I’m aware of the TAG.

However, every UC that I wish to attend, requires me to complete mathematic requirements by either Summer 12 or Fall 12. I will not be completing it till Spring 13 unfortunately.

This is why I cannot file a TAG.

Without TAG, how do my chances look at UCI/UCSB?

Thanks again.

PS: I’ve also considered applying to USC, I don’t know exactly how difficult it is to transfer there. But I’m sure its extremely competitive.

Well what I should say is, I have considered applying to USC, and probably will do so.

I’m in the same dilema as you with math. UCSC and UCD are the only schools that accept math during spring. Would you consider those schools at all? Your chances are really good at UCSB. Their average Transfer gpa for 2011 was 3.28; GPA Interquartile Range at 3.10 --3.45. I say you are definitely in. Just do well this Fall and raise it a little so you can set yourself apart from the average GPA admitted.

As you probably can tell, I reside in the san fernando valley.

I really want to remain in southern california for my bachelor degree, and have no interest going into UCSC, UCD, or UC merced.

I’ve heard USC is competitive, but sometimes people with GPA’s as low as 3.0 or 2.9 get accepted. It’s difficult for me to get it straight with USC. Some people say you need atleast a 3.8, others say just have a strong essay and you can get in with a 3.2.

I’ve called their admissions and the counselor answered in a very ‘politician’’ type fashion about their requirements.

Thanks for the link for on the info for UCSB, I can’t quite find the equivalent for UCI, I’ll do some more searching though!

Can anyone please chance me for USC?
