bump

I think at USC you have a great chance. It sounds like a great fit and has one of the best business programs. This goes for the same with UNC, however I believe UNC will be a little more of a reach OOS than USC for you. Overall, it looks good! Unweighted GPA?

@camtheman98 Really??? Thank you so much! But I’m not applying to the business program at USC, I’m applying to the School of Communication and Journalism.
Also my unweighted Gpa is so bad that I didn’t even wanna put it! It’s a 3.67.

As a guy from Texas out of state acceptance is very tough. UT accepts only 10% of its class via out of state applicants so be prepared for a high chance of rejection. Make sure you highlight what sets you apart in your essay’s and I’m sure you’ll be alright. I agree with @camtheman98 though that youll have a better chance at USC simply because Unc and ut accept most of its class from in state.

yeah @LordJay97 UNC has to have at least 82% from in state students

USC? South Carolina? Southern Cal?

@LordJay97 @camtheman98 thank you for your feedback! I’ll keep that in mind! And @2muchquan I’m so sorry, I should have specified, USC in my case is Southern California

one last bump for the road?

UNC will be a big reach for OOS. Cannot comment on the others.

Since when was a 3.82 a bad GPA??

@jman457 3.82 is my weighted GPA! I see many more people on here with much higher unweighted GPAs, and many counselors and other students told me I was lacking in the GPA department… But thank you for saying that! It made me feel much better!

An UW GPA of 3.67 is probably about 85% of college bound seniors. How that measures up depends on what kind of schools you are aiming at - overall, it’s probably on the low side for an out-of-state applicant to these particular state flagships, but not ridiculously low.

@NickFlynn thank you for your feedback! I’ll admit that from a numbers standpoint, I’m a pretty average student. Hopefully admissions will see something they like in my essays or extracurriculars!
