I've recently applied Early Action to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (LSA), and it's one of only three schools I actually want to go to. One I've been accepted at, though it's acceptance rate was through the roof, the other I have near-to-no chance at, but still tried applying anyway. UMich is my middle-ground, though that's an understatement being it's a fantastic school that's also very difficult to get into. My confidence isn't high right now, just because I'm worried that I'll have no choice in the matter of choosing what college I go to. I'd really love to go to this school. Here are my stats:

State I live in - Wisconsin

ACT (26) - only got a chance to take it once due to how expensive it was, I wish I could have taken it one more time.
Math (25)
Science (22)
Reading (31)
English (27)
Writing (11/12)

Class rank - 19th out of 174

Freshman GPA - 4.0
Sophomore GPA - 3.907
Junior GPA - 3.888
Senior year GPA as of my application - 3.9 (unweighted, so out of 4.0)

Almost all of my previous classes have had A's, and the lowest that I've gotten are B+'s, though those only pop up two or three times over all 4 years, in the end they almost always raise up to no less than an A-.

AP courses I have taken/will take:
AP US History (2) <-- after moving schools, this was a difficult year.
AP European History (3) <-- I took this as an independent study)
AP Psychology (4)
AP Literature and Composition (taking right now)

I've taken 4 years of French and am taking French V right now.

Extracurricular Activities:
Pit Orchestra (Sophomore + Senior years -- Bari and Tenor saxes)
Dixieland Ensemble (Junior + Senior years, went to state Solo/Ensemble -- Tenor Sax)
Jazz Band (throughout all of high school, went to state Solo/Ensemble -- Alto sax)
French Club (Sophomore year)
French Forensics (Sophomore year, went to state)
Solo/Ensemble (many trips to state for a solo and Ensembles)
All State band (Freshman year)
Music Composition (this hobby takes up a large chunk of my time, I've also entered the Wisconsin Music Association's Composition Competition and have received feedback. During school my Junior year, the composer Michael Colgrass came in to give us high school composers a workshop, which was a great experience)
Soccer (played Club soccer my sophomore year, but before high school I'd played for 8 years in a Select Club before moving states).

Race-wise (hopefully this doesn't matter that much), I'm a white female.

Intended Major: Anthropology/Archaeology

While it's not that impressive, I definitely have my fingers crossed. As far as I know, my recommendations were alright. One was from my AP European History independent study teacher/adviser, the other was from my College Prep Writing teacher. The essays I wrote I think were pretty good, but of course that's debatable.

How about you guys, what do you think?
