Hi everyone!

I’m an Asian female and I have lived in a country in Central America for the past 12 years. I am a senior and I am interested in studying Business. I need enough financial aid to cover the tuition fee and I am uncertain of my chances to get into certain colleges. My high school is a very small school at the rural parts of the country. It only offers three AP classes so we had to take them online. Not many resources are available at my school. I want to apply ED to UPenn but if my chances are extremely low, I want to apply ED to Babson.

fluent in Korean, English, Spanish and French

I am honestly not sure if I have any chance for the top colleges. My essay is unique and shows my leadership but my scores are not very high. Although my scores are not high, I am wondering if my leadership activities would cover them. And, are my ECs strong at all? Most schools are holistic but I feel like my application is not even close to being strong as other students’ applications.

You will get into Babson, rest assured. UPenn, probably not, but you will definitely get into Babson.

If I were you (our stats are actually very similar indeed, and Wharton is also my dream school), I would ED to Wharton. However, your asking for FA aid may hurt you as UPenn is need-aware to International students, and your scores are a little bit below average. But it’s worth a try, so why not?

As for the rest, Babson and Northeastern are low/middle match; the others are low reach/high match.

One other thing, if finance is so much of a concern to you, I recommend that you look into University of Alabama. If your Math + Reading exceed 1400, you are eligible for the Presidential Scholarship, which covers the full tuition fee.
