I am a high school junior who most desires an appointment to the United States Naval Academy, West Point, or Air Force Acad. Absent one of those, I would like to obtain a 4 yr scholarship through NROTC/AROTC/AFROTC to either Vanderbilt, CarnegieMellon, George Washington Univ, Univ of Michigan, UVA, Va Tech, or Northwestern. Major: computer engineering. Unweighted GPA 3.91, taking AP Bio and AP US Hist, Precalc, Honors Physics, Honors English, Spanish III. NHS. Varsity football, basketball and baseball. Student council class pres 1 yr, On board of local charity; 200 hrs community service; Church group/high school youth group, Mentor. Various athletic awards. Took PSAT in Oct '15 but don’t have score yet, will take ACT for first time in 12-12-15. Thank you.
Hi! I got into 2 of the academies so I can hopefully offer guidance. You’re definitely good for a ROTC scholarship. Try to max out the PT test… it isn’t something that will totally mess you up but it’ll help if your test scores are meh. How did you do on the PSAT? Unfortunately the academies pay attention to test scores so you’ll want to get them to 700s if possible
