Hello all!
Im currently a white female freshman (from New Jersey) at William & Mary and I absolutely hate it. Im still approaching the second semester with an open mind (and praying for a miracle), but this doesnt feel like the school for me. I really should have listened to what I heard- the social scene is nonexistent, the majority of people are weird/ quirky, most people dont go out, and there is nothing to do. Im not a crazy partying type, but I want a fun campus that has just as good- if not better- reputation as W&M. Academically, I think that the school deserves its fine reputation- my classes are VERY challenging but the professors are good (really tough grading though).
Im applying to transfer to UVA for Fall 2010. I was waitlisted there for Fall 2009 admission, which is why I came to W&M (not my second choice, I was accepted to Carnegie Mellon and Wake Forest but they were too expensive). Can you please chance me? Thanks!

High School:
- GPA: 4.5 weighted; VERY intensive curriculum- I was part of a selected 30-person program at my school (if you need more details please ask!)
- Rank 27/480
- SAT 1400/2120
- NHS President; member for both junior and senior years
- Varsity Swim Team Captain Junior and Senior Year
- Captain of the Morganville First Aid Squad
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) (still have my license now!)
- JV Track and Field Member 3 years
- Member of 4 clubs since freshman year
- Hospital volunteer for two years
- Lifeguard and Swim Instructor (have all certifications)
- Worked all 4 years at Pool Club and Gym
- Summer internship at law office during the summer
- Multiple awards
- EXCELLENT teacher recommendations (Im going to have the head of my program submit another one on my behalf)
- EXCELLENT essays
- First generation college student

I was completely bummed when I was waitlisted ☹ hopefully i can get accepted this time around!

College (W&M)
- GPA: dont know, depends on finals
hopefully between a 3.3 and 3.8! (grading is REALLY tough here!)
- First semester classes; 13 credits (freshman are only supposed to take four classes 1st semester here)
- Literature and Medicine (Freshman seminar, mandatory) (4c)
- Microecon (3c)
- American Literature (3c)
- Psych as a Nat. Science (3c)
- Second Semester;
- Global History (4c)
- African History (3c)
- Study of Language (4c)
- Psych as a Soc. Science (3c)
- Makeup (2c
I need a creative class for graduation reqs)
- Part of a social sorority
- Historian of sorority
- Volunteer at College Red Cross
- Volunteer Mentor for elementary student
- Rushing for Community Service sorority next semester
- Will obtain two good recommendations (right now my classes are all pretty big with the exception of my seminar)

The reason I chose these courses is because they (mostly) all count for graduation requirements I might take Molecular Biology next semester instead of one of the history courses though.

Please chance me/ tell me anything I can do that would increase my chances of being admitted this time! Also.. one of my high school teachers went to UVA and did very well on the wrestling team would it help to have him vouch for my continuing success?
