Chance Me Please! Will Chance Back!

I'm a senior and was hoping you could chance me at these schools! Any advice will go and I'll chance you back if you need same help. Thanks :) (I'm applying for economics probably or chemical engineering)

Applying To: Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, UPenn, Yale, MIT, Caltech, UCBerkeley, UCLA
International Student: Australian Nationality
Gender: M
Race: Indian

GPA: School does not give GPA
Rank: No rank either (idk our school's weird) but easily I'm number 1 or 2

I'm in the IB Diploma Program and take the most rigorest course load (counsler agrees), we have a pretty good reputation with ivys I think.

ACT: 34 (English 35, Math 35, Reading 31, Science 35)
SAT Subject Tests: Math 2 (800), Chem (800), Physics (790)
IB: Math HL (7), Physics HL (7), Chemistry HL (7), English Literature SL (7), French B SL (6), Economics SL (7)- predicted 44/45

ECs: Chaired, organized, and was a delegate in various MUN conferences including THIMUN and PAMUN; been swimming competitively at international competitions since 6th grade; volunteer to teach kids to swim every saturday for 2 hours (been over a year now); charity shop work (likewise 2 hours per weekend); raised over $500 for marie curie cancer care by swimming 5km (3 years now);

Rec: I'll probably get two really great recommendations from teachers and counsler/principal as well (not a problem)

Summers: 3 finance and economics based internships (kind of research) as well as various summer courses

I guess my theme would be swimming and maybe debate.

Anyways please chance me!!

You have an average chance HYPSM and a competitive chance at LA and Berkeley. Especially with the top ivies, no one is a sure bet for getting in but I think you have a pretty outstanding profile.

A family member of mine had basically the same stats, although it is possible that his SAT scores were not as high as yours. He had a 4.0 GPA unweighted etc. and applied to many of the same schools you are applying to. He got rejected from every school except Berkeley, where he had some legacy. The issue was probably that he didn’t have any community service and he didn’t do much but play baseball. You have goot stats to get into Berkeley and UCLA probably for sure.

Please chance me!

Wow, you have amazing stats!! (good job on the IB predictions, that’s fantastic!!!)

Harvard–Reach
Stanford–reach
Princeton–reach
UPenn–match
Yale–reach
MIT–reach
Caltech–match
UCBerkeley-high match/ low reach
UCLA–match

Even though you have phenomenal stats, your list of colleges is very ambitious. I recommend keeping only a few of these very high Ivy Leagues and also going for match and safety schools. Despite your amazing stats and EC’s, you need to have safety schools. These kinds of schools get applications from the most amazing students, and you are one of those amazing students. However, acceptance to these kinds of incredibly highly selective schools can never be guaranteed, no matter how good you are. Apply to a few second-tier schools as safeties, you never know how Harvard and other schools activities are going to go with applications.
Good luck!!

chance me back? ( http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1374409-list-realistic-will-chance-back.html</a> )

I think all of them are reaches except UCB and UCLA. You’re an amazing applicant, but The reaches that I have said are reaches are crapshoots. You should have some safeties. A couple ideas would be University of Wisconsin- Madison, and University of Texas at Austin. I hope you get in to some of your reaches though!

Could you chance me back?- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1358327-chance-me-please.html</a>
Thanks :)

I agree with ^
Your grades are amazing, but HYPSM is really hard to get into, so naturally all of them are going to be automatic reaches, except UCB, UCLA and maybe Caltech (high match)
Your essays will make the biggest difference since everything else on your resume seems great!
Congrats on your predictions, woahh.

Chance me back?!
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1376564-chances-international-student.html</a></p>

Like everyone else said, MAKE THOSE ESSAYS GREAT! You have great stuff, but great is average for Ivies+ applicants. You seem to be in great shape for the UC schools, but obviously Ivies are harder to chance for. I’m not so familiar with IB because they don’t offer it in my school, but everyone else seems to think your IB scores are amazing so I guess they are! Obviously you have grades and scores in the bag, you just need to make sure your ECs and passions stand out —> essays, once again. Try to show the extent that you’ve achieved with debate and swimming - obviously your involvement with debate and your international competitions with swimming are amazing, but with the way you described them here, a person could easily miss just how much you’ve achieved. And make yourself likable! Schools want kids with great personalities to be members of their communities!

Chance me back please? :)

pleeease chance back lol

HYPS loves international awards so if youre ranked well in swimming, you should have a good shot. your ECs sounds good too.
